Sakura felt ready to tear her hair out of frustration. Her forced captivity hadn't even spanned to a month. Yet it felt like she had been stuck in place for years, waiting for whatever happens next.
If it wasn't for the wire wrapped around her wrists she would have already succeeded in escaping. After kicking Kinkaku and Ginkaku's arses, of course.
It had been two days since the failed attack. Since then she was constantly feeling eyes on her. Courtesy of Madara and Izuna. The former making the blood inside her veins boil. The latter was more complicated.
One one hand, the younger Uchiha was polite. He had taken to giving her food whenever the sadistic brothers weren't looking since they decided not to feed her as punishment for her refusal to call them master. (She wasn't sure if that made her angrier than yesterday's obviously refused demand of kissing their feet.) Izuna also was good at conversing. Though he had been ordered by the jealous sadistic brat, Ginkaku, not to talk to her anymore.
On the other hand, Izuna was a spitting image of Sasuke. Her first love, first betrayal, first heartbreak, and a lot of other things she'd rather not think of.
As much as it pained her to admit, even if it was only to herself, she preferred the Uchiha brothers over the other pair of brothers that she was traveling with. Maybe it was the lack of chakra and sleep talking.
"Miss Haruno~!" Ginkaku's called in poisonously sweet tone. "Pick up the pace or we'll punish you."
The threat made Sakura roll her eyes. So far their punishments hadn't been anything severe despite their sadistic nature. It didn't have anything to do with leftover innocence that she would have imagined them to have when she was younger.
No, going by their lingering caresses and promises of all kinds of punishments when they reach their destination, it was only due to being on a time schedule that they haven't wrung her up naked and whip her. They'd probably do worse to her if givem a chance.
"This time," Kinkaku calmly started. She looked at him with weary eyes, wondering what he'd say. "No one is going to carry you around anymore. If you can't walk anymore, you crawl. And if you can't do that, we'll drag you through the dirt."
Ginkaku's smile widened. "Oh and if we catch the guards looking at you again, then Izu-kun will be the one to drag you."
Sakura caught sight of a disgusted look on the silent Uchiha brothers' faces before sighing and looking up at the sky. Her dilemma was just so troublesome. Maybe she should rethink her morals on killing Senju members to avoid headaches like this in the future.
Maybe learn Edo tensei to revive whoever she kills? No, no, going the Orochimaru route wasn't a good idea.
Besides, she could escape during the next ambush. She had already sensed enemies entering her sensory field ahead. It wouldn't be too long now. Any minute now. She tried concentrating harder to properly prepare, but the sudden entry of another in her sensory field from behind drew her attention.
Her eyes widened.
It was Kakuzu.
She wasn't sure how she should feel about that. There was a mix of emotions stirring inside her. The most important one being panic and worry.
'That stupid idiot...'
He was going to get caught up in the ambush.
"Look out!"
Sakura felt herself being lifted up and caught sight of Madara throwing her away.
Explosions went off.
