I SAT DOWN in the calming place of my backyard. My droopy eyes slowly closing as I looked up in the sky, watching the clouds move by in a peaceful manner. This was going to be the last time I would get my peace because I had transferred to a different school, and tomorrow was my first day there. I was homeschooled up until now, as I never liked communicating with with others. But of course my parents forced me to go to a school so I could 'make friends'. I don't think they understand that I want to be alone.
"Friends are stupid. They think they can do whatever they want with you." I mumbled under my breath. Picking up one of the books next to me, I sat under the tree next to the river as it was a way to help me get things off my mind. I was actually glad my parents left me alone because they know how bad I like it quiet.
"KASEY! WE NEED YOU TO COME INSIDE FOR A SECOND!" I heard my mom yell. I groaned as she decided to tell me this right when I was about to fall asleep.
"Coming mama!" I yawned, rubbing my eyes.

Once I got into the house they told me to sit down and the dinner table. As I sat down I looked at them, confused. They obviously knew I was confused as it showed clearly on my face. They soon said, "We both agreed, you need to get your ass out this house before you start school tomorrow." I stared at them for a second before simply saying, "no way I'm-"
My mother quickly cut me off with a, "I'm not letting my son go to school without at least being able to go outside and interact with people. So if I have to tell you again I will whoop that ass of yours! Now get dress and go around town!" I knew I couldn't talk back so I quickly got up, dashed upstairs into my room and changed out of my sweats and into some jeans with a short sleeved shirt.
"Bye mama, bye papa!" I screamed out to them before waking out the front door. I hated how they want me to go outside and into town. It was so noisy and definitely wasn't what I wanted my life to be. I huffed, walking down the streets and going into the coffee shop. The air smelled like caramel and chocolate, which left a relaxing feeling in me as I sat down at a booth, quickly laying my head down on the table.
"Uhm, Hello sir! What can I get for you today?" I heard a faint whisper say. I mumbled something, but she repeated the same thing again as she couldn't hear me.
"A regular chocolate cake with fudge icing." I told her. She couldn't have been older than 17 and younger than 20.
"Yes sir." She rushed into the kitchen, probably telling them my order. I caught a glimpse of some high schoolers fooling around at the table across from mine. I stared at them for a while, asking myself if I should go up to them, just to be friendly. Meh, I probably won't see them again so no point in trying. I closed my eyes, quickly going to sleep. It didn't last long, maybe 10 minutes before the waitress, whose name was Delia, came up to me and shook me.
"I'm awake," I mumbled. She put the slice of cake down in front of me and I flashed a smile at her before I stuck my fork in the cake. I loved sweets. They taste delicious, and make me smile. I glanced back over to the group of high schoolers with a blank face. They were so care free, like they could just do whatever the want with no problems. I frowned, wishing I could be like that. I finished my cake quickly and paid before leaving the place.

I checked the time, 7:56pm. The sun was already starting to set, which meant it was time for me to go home. I went to a few places after the coffee shop and bought some clothes for school as well as books. Huffing silently, I found my way out of the store, passing people who didn't try to pay attention to their surroundings, only their phones. I wasn't allowed to have a phone until I was 12, so of course I paid great attention. Even though I have a phone now, it's not often I use it.
"Home sweet home," I mumbled as I saw my house not to far from where I stood. I soon as I got there I immediately ran up to my room, grabbed some books, opened up my window, got into my pajamas, and laid down on the bench next to the window, picking up one of the books.
"Kasey, how was your day out?" I heard from outside my door. It was my mother.
"It was fine, I guess. I wish I didn't have to go to a public school. I'm better off alone." I quietly said.
"C'mon now, you need to start gettin ya ass out more! It won't be long until you have to go off to college!" I heard the sadness in her voice. She was scared to let me out into the real world, as I'm not a people's person.
"Mama, I promised you I'll try my best. I may not like it but I want you to be happy knowing I'm outside and trying to make friends," I walked up to the door, opening it slowly. I peeked out, seeing my mothers glossy eyes.
"My baby is growing up, I can't believe it." She whispered, making sure I still heard her.
"Mama, I'll always be here with you, forever and ever." I smiled, wiping her tears away. My father came a few seconds after, pulling us into a family hug. I laughed, snorting. I love my family. A few minutes after that hug we all said our good nights, heading to our rooms.

I woke up to hear my mother squealing and running around the house like a maniac. She barged into my room, and as soon as I heard these words I groaned loudly."ITS YOUR FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!"

This is my first BxB story I wrote on Wattpad. If I made any mistakes I'm very sorry. This chapter is just a little preview in Kasey's life, before the excitement.
