"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."
—Apocalypse Now, 1979
It was a gloomy day like no other, a sky that was filled with nothing but grey clouds and dust. If you seek from one cloud to another the shade of grey seemed to get darker like how the night of time seems to darken the sunsets of purple and yellow to horizons of stars. There was crisp gritty air that brimmed the atmosphere with nothing but chills and goosebumps. It was an obvious hint that rain would be emitting in a few moments.
The sidewalks were going from busy to desolated as the folks have noticed the sudden and obvious change of weather, it looked like a bad storm too. The folks were hurrying towards shelter as they shivered in the nipping weather.
The blues of the environment had affected the boys' moods too. It was just after another concert in Seoul where they felt more than bush, as always. Their muscles were straining from the overworked dancing, as their throat had possessed a rather bitter sore stab from the continuous singing and rapping (and growling) but none were really impacted as it were a pain they endured as usual as breathing. They took a few hours of limited time to relax with a few comfort food, peaceful silence, and the lack of pressure to not perfect everything to fill their calm tired portrayals and empty selves.
They have missed Armys already.
They missed their screams of enthusiasm and adoration, it had filled them the joy and giddiness as to who they are today. Their support had given them the confidence they needed to grow into the most famous K-pop boyband worldwide. Although they love their fans dearly, they couldn't help but desire the rest they hope they deserved.
Min Yoongi was first to head to the van, the raw gritted air slicing his bare flesh as soon as he had opened the entrance of the building. The man took no care as to be had, nonchalantly made his way to the familiar van. The rapper was already dozing off as soon as his body had felt the rather cold leather under his figure, closing his eyes in pure weariness as he slipped to slumber.
Kim Seokjin, Jung Hoseok, and Park Jimin were next to enter the vehicle. Softly conversing amongst themselves, their dry lips speaking out words that were so frail and gentle. Park Jimin, one of the vocalists, had shivered partially to the nipping weather. How it had a bitter slice against his bare neck and how it had created an atmosphere too perfect for hot chocolate, he had thought secondly. The trio was quick to get in the vehicle, refusing to stay in the cold any longer, doing their very best as to not wake up the male that was already situated in there. The trio didn't disappoint, whispering for the driver to turn on the heater humbly.
Kim Taehyung was strutting in absolute fashionista mode. He was always one of the best dressed of the group, other than being another stunning vocalist. Kim Taehyung had hissed silently as the sharp breeze brushed against his bare skin, the gush of wind made the hair on his neck stand. Taehyung had slowly made his way to the vehicle, the sound of his heel padding against the keen rough concrete not going unnoticed. Taehyung had nonchalantly mumbled a sassy comment of why the weather was so chilly, following another dumbfounded whisper as to why it's called chilly when chili is a food of spice and heat.
Jeon Jungkook and Kim Namjoon were the last to exit the building of sheer height. Jeon Jungkook, the maknae and vocalist of the group had taken an ungodly moment to finish his comfort food, annoyingly taking little bites, and Kim Namjoon being the leader, and rapper, he was supposed to be the last member out to make sure everyone was there situated in the vehicle.
He stood there with a groggy look given towards the maknae who only savored his noodles until the last sip of the flavored liquid at the end of the bowl. Namjoon muttered a plead for Jungkook to hurry for everyone was waiting for them, Namjoon himself was more than ready to fall asleep right then and there. The two were off as Jungkook had skipped to Namjoon merrily, Namjoon giving a worrying comment that he shouldn't jump after he just ate for he will feel sick afterward. Namjoon was greeted with Jimin's whines as to why they took so long. Namjoon had shaken his head, pointing to Jungkook to blame. The boy only grinned sheepishly, showcasing his iconic smile and two bunny teeth.
As Namjoon had drawn the door close, he felt himself relax next to Jungkook, his body as if melting against the now warm leather, the texture rubbing familiarly against his dry shivering skin. Namjoon's eyes were settled to close but his eyes soon opened in curiosity to the empty seat that was usually next to the driver's seat.
"Where's Bang Pd-nim?"
Namjoon's raspy voice broke the warmth of the silence, the boys (the only males awake) only questioning the same thing as they too have caught awareness. The driver adjusted the rear-view mirror, licking her arid lips, she spoke;
"He stayed for a bit, he had a few more paperwork to attend to."
A feminine voice spoke out, her voice was calm and smooth like it were the waves washing against the beige shore, the soapy ripples causing a contrast from the deep blue, this was enough to lull Namjoon to slumber. The leader could only nod, too tuckered out to function. The others nodded too as they too were worn out and could only agree as to their only response.
What they didn't notice is that the driver had pinched a twink of fabric, bringing the fabric up to her nose. The fabric glided gracefully until it covered almost half of her facials. Her forefinger and thumb had twisted a button on the van to the right angle, her wrist halting to a stop already too familiar with this etiquette. As the chemical had started spreading around the van, the driver's wrist flicked and they were now on a new route.
A new path, might as well a new future.
This had caused the driver to feel a certain giddiness burst into her stomach. The adrenaline feeling familiar but always renewing to her racing heart. The figure's hands tightened around the wheel, her foot slowly pressing down onto the pedal. The van had speeded to a faster pace.
Pit, Pat.
The rain had commenced, the liquid starting lightly as it dropped to the windshield. Constant light drops of rain dotted the surface of the windshield before coming more aggressively. Then it became stronger as if it were a hurricane, the rain brimmed the vision of the windshield, foggy as it is. The driver's eyes flickered to the mirror in the car, all-male were asleep, just as the chemical has been used for.
Goo Chul sneered at the sight, pleasing her to an incredible extent.
"Perfect."
