A/N: I don't really like to write (Y/N), so I'll go with Mina like I always do. Hope you don't mind! :p

What are the odds?

"Hey, you okay there?" Your best friend, Elijah, looked down at you as you were closing your MacBook and started to place it carefully into your bag.

You looked briefly at him before you responded nonchalantly, seeing at the same time how your other friend Emily, who sat further away from you two during the class, came closer to your table. She smiled at you like usually the moment your eyes met. "Yeah, why you'd ask?"

He shrugged his shoulders before he buried his hands in his pocket and furrowed his brows, "Well, you've been kind of weird in the past few weeks." He leaned against a table behind him after letting a student pass and gave him a short wave. Eli knew almost everyone inside this class if not the whole university. You looked confused at him.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

Even though you knew exactly what he meant by that, you acted like you didn't. Elijah has known you since forever and it wasn't a surprise to you that he noticed your weird behavior. You mean, Jenny, one of your friends that currently didn't have the same class as you three, picked it up too, and Jenny knew barely what was going on most of the time.

"I mean," he sighed before he continued, "it's like you're here with us but at the same time you aren't. I don't know how to explain you—acting weird. You're, like, always weird. But you are usually not that weird. You know?"

You listened to him while you were stuffing your belongings inside your bag. Usually during classes you'd only use your MacBook to take notes of the things the professor would say. A notebook and pen were only for you to doodle during that time when it was too boring to listen. Sadly, that started to happen quite a lot now, you noticed.

And so did Elijah, "You're even doodling more than usual!"

You licked over your dry lips to answer. "Are we talking about Mina acting weird?" But Emily beat you to it.

You blinked surprised, your mouth falling open as you watch how she jumped smoothly on the table you were still sitting on, the metal pieces of her leather jacket clinkering with it, and glanced innocently between you and Elijah. The latter only nodded while he leaned over, his palms wide open as he placed them on the surface of the table. His brown hair falling down on his forehead during that move.

"I do not know what you two are talking about." You remarked as you get off of the chair and threw your bag over your shoulder. Elijah's eyes got smaller as he inspected your posture questionably, "You sure 'bout that?"

"Absolutely."

You lied. Without shame.

Without any shame, you lied to your friends.

If I feel bad? Probably. If I regret it? Probably not.

Way to go, Mina. And the best and honest friend award goes to....

Emily was the first one to realize the tense atmosphere between you two as you were only staring in each other's eyes without any sign to continue the conversation. So, she did what Emily always did; she groaned loudly. "You both are annoying, you know that?"

You were the first one to break the eye contact and shrugging off your thoughts about being a bad friend. Your orbs traveled to your friend who was holding her head bored in her hand as her elbow was supported by her knee, Emily's hazelnut eyes wandering between you two.
