The Golden Afternoon

"Here! Right here!"she waved her arms up "Oh my Miranda!" he found her. "Jack! I got smaller!" she shouts up. "How?" he asked. " That bottle said drink me!" soon voices were heard "My, is that Alice?" one voice asked. Both Jack and Miranda heard it "Oh of course not. Alice has blonde hair and she's a brunette." another points out. Jack hums in thought then smiles taking out an extra vile "Hang in there Miranda! I'll join you!" he started to shrink as well, standing by the small girl. Jack recognized the voices that belong to the flowers he begin to dance his way to them tipping his hat, spins and bows as he kisses the white rose's leaf hand she giggles as the rest of the flowers greet him. Then they all looked at Miranda.

"Who is she?" 

"I don't know but that's not Alice."

"M-my name's Miranda." the small girl says in a shy tone.

The flowers were amazed "I-it's nice to meet you." she says to all the flowers "Oh how soft she is." one flower says. Miranda looked at Jack, he smiled and nodded she begin to talk to the flowers for a while they were really nice. Soon they share a song to the small girl as she and Jack sit down on a near by mushroom.

Flowers (singing): Little bread-and-butterflies kiss the tulips, And the sun is like a toy balloon, There are get up in the morning glories, In the the Golden Afternoon. There are dizzy daffodils on the hillside, Strings of violets are all in tune, Tiger lillies love the dandy lions, In the Golden Afternoon (In the Golden Afternoon) There are dog and caterpillars and a copper centipede, Where the lazy daisies love the very peaceful life, They lead... You can  learn a lot of things from the flowers, For especially in the month of June.

White Rose (singing): There's a wealth of happiness and romance, All in the Golden Afternoon.

*Miranda was very amazed at the flowers beautiful melody, Jack smiled at her as they both were enjoying the song*

*Miranda started to sing the verse with all her heart with the flowers*

Miranda (singing): You can learn a lot of things from the flowers, For especially in the month of June, There's a wealth of happiness and romance All in the Golden Afternoon.

Jack was in awed from the small girl's little angelic voice that reminded him of Alice, he almost teared up but used his handkerchief to wipe them away. Miranda and Jack clapped and bid the flowers goodbye as the two begin to make their way through the tall grasses trying to clear a path "Jack, who is Alice?" the small girl asked innocently. He smiled cheery and took out his deck of cards showing the story of how he met Alice here in Wonderland, she was a little girl like Miranda he met her in the woods and both became fun friends, he was so happy and so was she but everything didn't go so well when she met his master the queen of hearts. Jack would protect Alice and help her no matter what the trial was not good and Alice had to leave Wonderland, later on she returned as a teenager and saved the entire land after that she headed back home Jack was sad and alone after the events and all he ever done was obey his queen's duties. 

Miranda felt really sorry for him as he pouts sadly bowing his head a bit she gently place her hand on his cheek he looked at her "I'm so sorry Jack I know how that feels. But everything will be okay I'm really happy to have you as a friend and I would want you to be happy as well, you really brighten people's days with a joyful and cheerful personality that you have. You made my days more bright than the sun in the sky and I know Alice would want you to be strong and happy." she comforts him. His sad frown turned into a cheery smile again and hugged the little girl she let's out a little yelp but giggled and hugged him back, he smiled then after the sweet moment they look around.

 "Hey Jack, how do we grow big again?" Miranda asked. He purse his lips and taps his chin in thought "Hmmm.." then he snapped his fingers "Aha!" reaches into his vest and pulled out a little box that had some sweets that said 'Eat Me' "Try one my dear." he held it out in front of her she picks one little cake and took a tiny bite out of it. Then she grew back to her normal small height Jack smiled and ate one then he grew back into his normal tall height, adjusting his suit the two friends begin to head down the pathway they once were and both begin to skip along the way holding hands and giggling.
