The wind gently tickled her skin, she got her bearings and limped to the the fallen log that so cruelly tripped her. The smell of rotting wood wafted up to her she scrunched her nose in disgust,

  "What the hell was that?"

In the corner of her eyes, a small blue beam of light had flashed from the log. She slowly approached the source of the light...

No.

Don't let your curiosity get the best of you
Just leave it be.

Every cell in Nikita's body rejected prying into the log to find out what could be the source of the light.

"Could it perhaps be a phone?" She questioned.

Nikita hoped she was right and if her suspicions were confirmed she could call for help and maybe get away from Him.

'Only one way to find out'.

She turned the log over and there was a pitch black hole in the rotting wood, upon closer inspection she saw that little black bugs scurried away no doubt pissed off that she had invaded their home. She dug deeper into the log, she couldn't see very well, however the moonlight illuminated her surroundings enough.

"At least I'm not in pitch black"

She continued to search in the log for the source of blue light, but stopped when she felt something cold, she brushed off any anxiety and grabbed the object out of the log.

"Is it a phone?—no wait it's something else". She murmured while inspecting it,

the cool smooth, and heavy amulet gently graced the palm of her hand, she brought is closer to her face and saw the outside was metallic grey and in the middle was a blue stone. Maybe it could be a sapphire she but was not sure.

"What the hell is this?"

She flipped the object over, and a small rusted inscription was carved on the back the with engraved words on it.

'FӨЯēƧ ΛPΣЯīЯΣ ЯΣX' it read.

'What could that mean?' She thought

By the looks of it the message was in Latin—a very ancient and powerful language.

"But what could it be doing on the back of this amulet?" She wondered and without a thought, she carelessly whispered the words quietly to herself.

"OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE KING" A
dark voice hissed.

She started to breath rapidly.

THUMP THUMP THUMP

Her heart rattled against her ribs, she couldn't hear the sound of the wind rustling the leaves, the sounds of the owls hooting, she couldn't hear the crickets chirp, everything in the forest was silent.

Very Silent.

Hairs stood up at her neck and chills went down her spine, Nikita had no idea what evil forces she released onto herself. She looked at the object again and noticed it had prongs that looked eerily like the hands of old clock, and without a second thought she moved the hands so they were touching each other.

Suddenly a searing hot white heat emitted from the object.

"What is happening to the stone?" She asked
