"Oh my...What the fuck is happening here?!" Richard exclaimed.

"I can't believe my eyes. I think I'm going to throw up." George said. He covered his mouth after an uncomfortable burp flew out of his stomach.

Alice after being frozen for quite a while stood up and took a few steps towards dead Poodle's body.

"Why on earth would someone do something like this?" Richard asked.

"I can't believe that's your concern right now Richard. There might be a monster in this house and the fucking dog's your problem? Like seriously?! Death happens! Sure but not to me or my kids you piece of shit!" Alice turned to Richard. She threw the dog's head at him. Her eyes reddened in rage.

"Shit! It's happening again dad." George told his father the inevitable.

"George take your sister upstairs. You two stay in the living room. Your mum and I will join you both soon."

"Dad the sooner you tell us what's up with mum's episodes, the easier this will be on everyone! I'm not a kid anymore!"

"Well Mr Big Guy, the girl beside you is still a kid! If you want to talk that's fine! But now's not the time. If you're as grown up as you want me to see, get your sister and get the hell out of here before your mom explodes! You know what comes next, don't you?!" Richard told his son. Confusion and fear sailed across every line on his skin.

George grabbed Melody and ran up a few stairs. Far away from the basement.

"This is exactly why I moved here Alice, so we could be free from this!"

"You mean free from me! Shit! Richie just say the truth! You're not looking so good right now!" Alice laughed hysterically.

"Alice, I know you get like this when you're shocked but I've helped you this far as a doctor and as your husband. Your past can't hunt you anymore. So for the sake of the kids, let it go! Stop this madness!" Richard's eyes began to water. He truly thought this was over.

"Madness?! You think I'm crazy? What's crazy is you talking about a dumb dog when there's a monster out here, that can hurt my kids! I told you not to bring us out here but you did! If anyone's crazy Richie it's you."

"I know you're right. I'm the mad one! I'm sorry." Richard said while his eyes scanned his surrounding for a sensible means of protection.

He knew what would happen next.

In a few seconds, Alice got closer to Poodle's corpse. She bent down, picked up the shears and wiped the blood off on her jean trousers. With a deadly smile on her face, she began to walk towards her husband.

Richard took a few steps backward and took hold of a board he had found.

Alice began to swing the shears at him. The flat piece of wood Richard used to protect himself began to reduce as pieces fell off its surface on getting hit, over and over by Alice's unpredictable dance of shears.

When barely six inches of the unshaped board remained, Richard threw it at Alice.

Her eyes followed the piece of wood and in that moment of distraction, Richard slapped the shears off her hand. A piece of his flesh by the surface, took off with the dangerous tool. Red liquid sprinkled the air by a bit.

He grabbed his wife and held unto her like a bear would hug its prey.

"Dad here!!" George called from a few steps away.

He threw a capped syringe his father's way.

Richard caught it, took off the cap with his teeth and pierced his wife's arm. His fingers steady, moved down with the pressure he applied.
