The warm breeze of summer and every tint of the sun's rays on clear drops of liquid found on green stems was beauty to Mary's eyes as she walked into the forest.
Pinecones, nuts, berries of varied kinds and the fallen brown of matured trees gave the forest floor an exciting décor. The constant chitter of squirrels and tweets of robins and sparrows were a song so peaceful. It accompanied the gentle gush of water that flowed so pleasant down a little stream. It was indeed gracious and Mary wanted to spend every moment taking in deep breaths of fresh air, but her heart would not allow her as she had to tend to something else.
While Mary Angela walked through the forest, she had to watch her every step. She could not afford to be distracted by the beauty that surrounded her. She had to keep her eyes forward and hasten her steps.
Mary had to be quick enough to keep up with the Beckham boys but she also had to slow her pace once in a while to avoid getting caught by them.
With the thousand twigs spread all over the forest grounds she should have been seen, since she wore a pair of boots. She had wandered the forest for years and she knew too well that the sound of a heavy step on a twig was like an alert call. One step and any animal or human nearby would take a pause.
However the instant snap of a twig only called for caution in the midst of tranquillity and the Beckham boys were loud. Too loud.
Mary treaded carefully at first. She kept her eyes on the Beckham boys and the on the ground at the same time, but she was no super human. Hence, a lot of twigs could not be avoided. Still with every shock that came with the snap of a twig, the Beckham boys never turned back or took a break.
After stepping on a few more twigs and skipping brown leaves by their piles, Mary thought it best to focus on keeping up with the Beckham boys.
"The fallen logs and wide tree trunks are good enough for staying out of their sight, so a few broken twigs shouldn't bother me." She oft told herself whenever her feet snapped a twig.
Dressed up in a brown tank top, green thigh-long shorts and a pair of black socks which sunk into a pair of brown boots, Mary's show of skin by a few portions, kept her light for the journey.
The journey to find the book with a red leather cover.
"George I know you hate this idea but I really want us to spend some time together. You know, as father and son." Richard said, while he adjusted a pair of sunglasses on his eyes.
Richard kept his eyes on a map in his hands and a compass as well. His bag was light since he made George carry all the equipment and tools. A lot of these tools were not necessary in any way since he was sure to head home immediately he found what he was looking for. However he had to sew his lies in pretty laces of deceit to avoid further suspicion from his son.
"Dad we've spent sixteen years together. I think that's a lot, don't you? I mean it's well over a decade!" George told his father.
He really hated the idea of taking a sudden hike in the forest. His legs itched, his shoulders were killing him due to the size of his backpack and his sunglasses fell off the bridge of his nose constantly.
