Present Time Part 2

Kiba soared through the trees. His mind was going into overdrive with his thoughts jumbling around all over the place.

"What do I do now? Even if I could protect my teammates, how the hell am I going to fight, if my whole body is in pain from a single movement." 

Kiba chewed on his lip at the thought. While distracted, he ended up biting his lip hard, making blood overflow from his lip to his jaw. He jerked from the pain, before shaking his head. 

"Don't worry about that now. First of all, I should focus on getting my teammates somewhere safe and getting myself patched up."

He looked down at himself for a quick second, and grimaced in disgust from the dirt, sweat, and strong smell that was wafting off of him. He looked ahead, thinking about places in the forest that can give them shelter for the night.

Naruto shifted a little. Kiba quickly stopped and landed on a branch in front of him. He placed Naruto down while he looked in excitement, his whole face lighting up. Before his whole face fell disappointed seeing him still unconscious.

Kiba sighed and picked Naruto up, adjusting him quickly. Before, jumping through the trees again,  keeping his senses alert.

As he was jumping, Kiba's eyes kept slipping close, before snapping open again. He almost fell before quickly opening his eyes, and landing on the branch closest to him.

Kiba panicked inside his head at the close call. He realised then that he couldn't keep moving if his body needed to rest. He took a few deep breaths, calming himself down. He started to look around the forest, trying to see if there was anything to hide his teammates in and to get himself patched up.

While looking around the forest, and not seeing anything while so high up, Kiba jumps down from the trees and walks on foot. While he was walking, he swayed, while his sight got blurry.

 Kiba stopped, shook his head to clear his foggy mind, and started sniffing the air, looking for something that can give them cover for the night. While he was sniffing, he smelled a cave nearby, and sighed in relief. 

He quickly adjusted his teammates again, before quickly taking off to where the smell was coming from. As he was running, the smell became stronger. Until he came across a cave that seemed to go deep.

Kiba took a small breath, before walking into the cave keeping his senses alert, looking around for a spot to rest. He found a spot that was at least dry enough to sleep on, and was deep enough in the cave for protection.

He set his teammates down on the cold floor, while he took off Naruto's backpack. He sets it down on the floor beside Naruto, while he stretches and winces in pain from stretching too much.

"I need to get firewood, and make a campfire, so that we won't freeze to death. "

Kiba thought, while looking over his teammates to make sure they were okay, seeing that they were. He sped walked out of the cave and hurried to get the stuff.

"Don't panic, they will be fine Kiba. It's fine, they will be fine."

He thought frantically, while looking for firewood and rocks. Hours passed, until Kiba had a big pile of gathered firewood. And a decent pile of rocks. He gathered up the firewood into his arms first, and walked back to the cave.

When Kiba made it back in the cave to his teammates, he sighed in relief, releasing the tension from his body seeing they were still safe. He set the firewood down in front of teammates, not too close and not too far.

Kiba sets up the firewood into a cone position. He takes some of them out of the position and puts them into a pile, and then leaves to get the rocks that he left. Hefting them up into his arms, he struggled to hold all of them at the same time, so he waddled/ran to the cave. When he made it to his teammates, he quickly set down the rocks.
