Blasts of wind whirled through the rolled down windows of River's chevy, the radio pumping Lenny Kravitz and other popular tunes in the background. You liked listening to music on road trips, yet, River's exciting tales and infectious laughter was a greatly pleasanter soundtrack in your view. "Pez me," River sounded, his mouth stretched wide as he anticipated the little pill-shaped candy to connect to his tastebuds once more. A radiant smirk developed on your face as you raised the dispenser, popping the Mickey Mouse fashioned head aback, shaking yet another piece of candy into your boyfriend's lips.
When your liberated boyfriend of two years proposed an impromptu road trip to Mary's Peak in Oregon, you just couldn't refuse the gleam of adventure that radiated through his eyes, neither the playfulness behind his beautiful grin. You and River both relished in the, what some might refer to as taxing, preparation for a road trip. River found satisfaction in preparing lunch sacks for the two of you. He was always good at cooking; his creativity flowed in the kitchen just as it would in the music studio or on a movie set. As for you, gathering the essential baggage was your traditional responsibility. But, you didn't mind.
"How long till we're there?" You asked, relaxing the candy dispenser back on your thighs. You watched as River crushed the candy thoroughly before rolling his neck to the side, almost as if he were stretching. "Another hour or so," He returned.

"Are you getting this?" Your endeared lover, River, asked as he fixed the red and white baseball hat he wore before toughening his hold on the white frisbee prepared to be launched.
Mary's Peak is a majestic summit in Oregon, River's birthplace, consisting of hair-raising greenery and striking plant life. Blossoming violets and dandelions scattered the landscape, bringing a long sigh you absorbed it all. The sensation of joy flooding your energy as your eyes concentrated on the raw, vigorous boy in front of you. Shaking your head, snapping out of your inner thoughts, you raised the camcorder to aim at your boyfriend. "Yeah, yeah- Go for it, Rio." you cheered.
River's eyes lit up as he rotated his body, rocking his arm with a robust might, freeing the frisbee from within his grasp. The two of you watched as the gadget soared in the air, the camera now zoomed in to capture its descent. "Now, how are you planning to get it back?" You asked him matter-of-factly. Rivers eyes shot up your way, his eyebrows squirming lightly as the curves of his mouth bent upwards into a cheeky grin.
"That doesn't matter right now. How about we sit?" He offered, motioning to the spot of grass remaining behind the couple of you.
You agreed, turning the camera off once and for all before climbing up to where River relaxed, letting him tenderly draw you down by your ill-fitting flannelette.
The scene from your position was a great deal to take in. The sunset had just begun to set and the value of earth was too powerful for two innocent individuals, operating the obligations of life. The spectacle was a slap in the face- a reality-check if you wish. You'd been so pessimistic, very troubled, while there'd been such excellence you'd been blinded to. "Y/N?" River disrupted your thoughts, his feathery caress brushing your forearm, prompting you to flinch slightly. "Yes, honey?" You returned, redirecting your head to view the handsome boy.
As you centered your awareness, your eyes swelled at the scene in front of you. In River's palms held a wire-bound quartz ring, his eyes glossed over in virgin tears. Your jaw sank in excitement, grasping what is occurring now. River's lips jerked, his breathing unsteady as well as his hands. "Riv-" You breathed, examining the fragile gemstone.
"Will you marry me?"
