Chapter 1
POV: Y/N 1st Person
I awoke to sun streaming in through my huge bedroom windows, and to birds chirping loudly as the sunlight broke through the clouds. I lifted my arm and stretched, a yawn crawling across my face. I checked my alarm clock. 6:30 am. Time for breakfast. I ran downstairs and started on my scrambled eggs. "Y/N Y/L/N!!" called my mom. "You better hurry if you want a ride to school!" Ugh. If I wanted to avoid the smelly, overcrowded bus I'd have to skip breakfast.

I threw the uncooked eggs down the sink and ran back upstairs to brush my teeth, wash my face, and get ready for the day. I quickly splashed water on my face and dried off with a towel, gazing into the mirror, looking at my Y/E/C eyes and long Y/H/C hair. I quickly tied my hair up into a messy bun, and threw on some mascara to accentuate my already long lashes and lip gloss to highlight my plump lips. I stepped back and admired my work, nodding in approval. "Y/N!! I'm leaving!!" screamed my mom. Damn. I still have to get dressed. I guess I'll have to take the bus today.

I rushed to my room and threw on my black high top Converse, some black jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt, a red and black flannel around my waist, and finally topped my outfit off with a red beanie to control my thick mane. I checked the clock again. 7:00. I'd better hurry if I want to make the 7:15 bus to make it to school on time. I slung my backpack across my shoulder and hurried down the stairs, flying through the front door and rushing to the bus stop. Just in time too, as the bus pulled up right as I got to the stop.

The bus doors creaked open, and I stepped up into the big yellow vehicle, my eyes glued to my feet so I didn't trip. As I raised my Y/E/C eyes up to greet the bus driver, I realized that it wasn't the usual driver. Instead of the usual old, heavy woman, it was a young, brown-haired man with cerulean blue eyes that captured my gaze. I stuttered over my words. "H-h-hello..." I said shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "'Ello luv!" he responded in a British accent. "How are you doing today?" "Uhh good I guess..." I sat down in the seat closest to the driver. I usually sit way at the back and put my headphones in and blast TØP on my iPod, but today I wanted to talk to this mysterious new bus driver some more.

"So.... how long have you been driving buses?" I ask the new driver innocently. "This is actually my first day in the job, luv." When he called me "luv," my heart fluttered a little bit. "What's your name?" I couldn't wait for his response. "My names Daniel Fletcher, but you can call me Daniel." He said with a little wink. My stomach was in butterflies. "What's your name?" He counters in his thick accent." "Oh... my name is Y/N." "Why, that's a lovely name!" "Thank you." I blushed. "Well, here we are. The highschool." As I hopped off the bus I turned and waved to him, my face still red from ear to ear.

The rest of the day was pretty uneventful, with math and English in the morning and Spanish and Biology in the afternoon. Over the lunch break I texted my mom that I would take the bus home, so she didn't have to pick me up. I couldn't wait to talk to Daniel the bus driver some more.
