How careful was he, to come in the night
Suck the breath from my lungs
Shadow Man was cautious from the light
This was not a feat he could overcome
Indeed his intentions were insidious
Why else would he come when it's black?
He had no intention of going back
And everytime we'd try to rid of him, he came with quite the resilience
I once braved a flashlight, directly into his face
He swooped down so quickly, knocking it from my hand
Then swooped back on over, to his lurking place
Why he always came, i could never understand
His very presence so saturnine
That's the Shadow Man.
