~Jerome's POV~
I put the spoon back into the murky soup they called "tomato soup". It really looked like they just put red food coloring in water. Reluctantly after staring at the soup for a good 5 minutes I put a spoon full of the soup into my mouth. How disgusting! I was extremely tempted to just spit the soup out, but if Madame Bethany was still around she would scold me. I downed the liquid and gave a disgusted groan and a shiver of my spine. I wish Madame Bethany was here! I wish Mitch were here! I let a loud an exasperated sigh. Maybe I should give up on the search of finding him, just as Madame told me to.~Mitch's POV~
I looked up at the large, towering building where my apartment was located. I rented the 15th floor, room 6F. The floor is completely new and all the pipes were a-okay. Ah, how could I wish for a better place to call home. Suddenly I was snapped out of my happy daydream when I randomly stopped. I was just outside the old soup kitchen, where the food stunk and the place rotted. Very few people ever go in there anymore, only the people that have no where else to go. "God have mercy on your souls." I whispered under my breath while I looked on the disintegrating decor. My mom taught me to say that when ever I felt self pity on someone or something, though I don't believe in a God.I took out my phone. It was 12 in the afternoon. I took one last glance at the building.... and dashed off. No way in hell I'm going to be late for my own birthday party!
