"a lot of time has passed and these days,
i sometimes miss you, i wonder why?"

--- --- --- ---

Yoongi's ticket to free lunch took him to the nearest Starbucks. Technically it wasn't lunch, but food is food, and food is best when it's free.

"What do you want?" Jeongguk asks him as his eyes scanned the menu for a beverage.

"Whatever you're having but with a cookie." The younger hummed in response, while Yoongi went to look for a place to sit.

Soon after, Jeongguk came to their table with their drinks. Yoongi thanked him for the food and took a bite out of his chocolate oatmeal cookie.

"So," he started, wanting to know more about the younger, "What made you decide that being an intern would be the best way to earn money?"

The latter took a sip from his caramel macchiato, it's sweet flavor lingering on his taste buds. "I don't really know. I guess it's just fun to try something new. Besides, I heard the CEO was hot and I was not disappointed with what I saw." His reply made Yoongi chuckle.

"How about you? You don't seem like the type who'd want this job."

Yoongi took another bite, "Can't say you're wrong about that. I wanted to be a rapstar."

Jeongguk choked on his drink, and laughed.

Yoongi panicked internally, wishing he could take back what he said. "W-What's so funny?" He was embarassed about revealing his dreams to someone he barely knew.

"Oh no," Jeongguk finally stopped laughing, wiping away a few tears in his eyes, "I didn't mean to offend you. It's just—the way you phrased it," He bit his tongue to stop the cackle that threatened to escape his mouth, "Okay, I'm sorry, please carry on."

Though Yoongi was still flustered, he continued, "That... That wasn't my biggest goal, really. I'd rather be a pianist or a producer, but rapping was something that I considered since I also write lyrics."

Jeongguk's eyes sparked with interest, "Really? We should do stuff together sometime!"

Yoongi choked, his mind was making him think that the younger was suggesting something else. "I-I'm not really into those kind of things—"

"That's not what I meant! Jeez, you should probably lay off of chrome or whatever site you use to help, uh, practice your skills." Yoongi facepalmed. Ever since he came out of the closet, the way he thinks about people of the same sex have gotten more and more creative, especially if he finds them attractive.

"Then what? W-What do you want to do?"

"I was trying to suggest that we write a song together."

"Oh. Like a collab?"

Jeongguk huffed, "I thought you'd get that the first time, guess not."

Yoongi blushed in embarassment. It wasn't entirely his fault that he thinks like that. But being friends with two actual perverts was bound to make him think like one.

"I'll think about it." The younger grinned so wide that Yoongi could've sworn he became a bunny.

A sudden ringing of both of their phones interrupted the conversation. They gave each other a knowing look.

Yoongi smirked, "So, wanna go shopping?"

"Jeongguk, we're going to dinner, not an emo gathering."

After receiving an invitation to a welcome dinner for the interns, Yoongi and Jeongguk went to the nearest mall to get something nice to wear.

Both of them were cheapskates in all honesty, but it didn't hurt to spoil themselves a little since they wanted to celebrate. Besides, neither of them had anything decent to wear for that night, or for any other days when they'd have work.

Jeongguk tried on a black knitted-sweater, along with ripped jeans of the same color. It didn't help that he was wearing black platform shoes and had raven hair.

"But don't you think it's nice though? I'm definitely buying these." He checked himself out in the mirror, clicking his tongue when he saw how good the jeans accentuated his hips and legs.

"Whatever, just get a dress shirt or something." Yoongi on the other hand, wore a light blue button-down accompanied by denim blue jeans. It made the younger's mouth slightly part open.

"Close your mouth baby, I'm not that gorgeous." He teased. Jeongguk coughed, feeling shy when the older caught him staring.

He mumbled incoherently under his breath much to the other's amusement as he went back to the dressing room to try on something similar.

After a while, he came out. "How's this?"

Yoongi took a moment to admire the younger. This time he put on a simple yellow dress shirt. Only now did he notice his well built body; toned biceps, slim waist, he bet that he even had abs concealed underneath the clothing.

"Are you done checking me out?" It was Jeongguk's turn to do the teasing. Instead of reacting, Yoongi came closer, making him take a few steps back until his back hit the wall of the dressing room. He tried to squeeze himself into the corner of the cramped space but it was no use. The elder put both of his hands on either side of Jeongguk's head, completely trapping him. He averted his gaze and gulped. He felt a bead of sweat run down his back when Yoongi leaned in, his face barely a few inches away from his own.

"What's wrong babe? Cat got your tongue?" He whispered into the younger boy's ear, sending shivers down his spine at how husky he sounded.

Yoongi ruffled his hair playfully, breaking the tension before moving away to give the boy some space.

"Damn. You're so gay." Jeongguk breathed out.

"Says the one who panicked." Yoongi sneered, "You better not fall for me, I have someone else that I like."

Jeongguk rolled his eyes, "Don't flatter yourself. You ain't even my type."

Yoongi snickered. Making friends with the younger wasn't so bad after all.

before the dinner scene.

yoonkook moment? trust me,
even i didn't know that i'd be
putting that there lel. also, kook's
height should be the same when he
was actually 19, that way the dressing
