The door to Dinah's room opened causing Normani to raise her head, Dinah came into the room; dressed in blue overalls and a white long sleeve shirt, feet bare with only blue socks. Normani instantly noticed her bloodshot eyes and flushed cheeks that were covered in tear stains. Dinah sent her a small smile, clearing her throat as she wiped away a fresh set of tears.
"Morning, farmer." Normani joked, earning a rough chuckle from the distressed woman.
"Did you, uh, want some breakfast?" Dinah asks, pointing her thumb behind her as she closes her bedroom door.
Normani noticed how hoarse and weak her voice sounded, but she didn't say anything. "What's for breakfast?"
"I cooked some ... fish and vegetables, but I-I could whip something up for you."
"Fish and vegetables for breakfast?" Normani asks, furrowing her brows in confusion.
"That sounds weird, I know." Dinah says, rubbing the back of her neck nervously with a shake of her head. "It's just ... easier."
"Well, I'm sure it still tastes amazing." Normani says, getting up from the bed. She could eat fish for breakfast so that she isn't making anything harder for Dinah—that was the last thing that Dinah needed right now. "What kind of fish?"
"Today, it's red snapper."
Normani smiles at that, slipping her shirt onto herself. "You eat fish everyday for breakfast?"
"Sometimes, I eat chicken instead." Dinah says, clearing her throat. "I could bring it in here for you, if you'd like. You probably don't wanna go out there."
"It's okay, Dinah." Normani giggles, walking around the bed. "I'll be fine. They're just pets."
Dinah raises a brow at that, chuckling to herself. She can only imagine how Normani will react when she sees the rest of her pets. She takes a deep breath, nodding her head as she opens her bedroom door. Well, she said that she'll be fine.
"Okay," She sings, leaving her room, letting Normani follow her down the long hallway that held all of the bedrooms in her large home. Some had name tags and others didn't. "Just don't open any random doors, alright?"
Normani's eyes widened at that and she warily followed Dinah into the very large open area. It looked normal, aside from how abnormally roomy it was. She wondered why there was such little furniture or decoration, but didn't feel that it was her place to ask. Some people simply didn't feel the need for over-the-top or clutter-ish decor. Normani, herself, wasn't one to over decorate her home, but she felt that Dinah's was eerily empty.
"Uhm," Dinah cautiously waved her hand in front of the woman's face, breaking her from her concentrated gaze towards her living area. "You straight?"
"Yeah," Normani nodded quickly, looking towards Dinah to take her attention away from the room. "Yeah, I'm-I'm good."
"Cool," The woman smiled, gesturing a little 'OK' with her fingers. "Breakfast?"
Normani only nodded, following Dinah away from the living area to enter whatever room the taller woman was taking her to. "Do you ... have kids?"
She mentally slapped her face with her palm at the question. She had just met the woman last night; she had no right to ask her for such information. She's a stranger to this stranger.
Dinah, however, found the question amusing and chuckled, "No, I don't have kids." She said, glancing back at the woman. "Unless you count my animals. Then, yes, I have plenty of them."
