Destiny is Served

Epilogue

It's been three months since Kara's ordeal. Christmas is coming and Kara can't think of what to get Braylin.

Michelle and Cameron are so happy. Her belly is growing and everyone is tired of hearing about her morning sickness but it doesn't stop Conner from talking about it.

Aaron is still trying to convince Darla to be his girlfriend exclusively except they already are dating each other exclusively, he just doesn't want to say the words out loud.

Nana Rita is still having Sunday dinners, except now she needs a bigger table to welcome the new additions and the return of the old.

The relationship between Lester and Alexandra is up and down. Now that Lester knows about the baby they both go through phases of grief. They need to learn to grieve together.

James Monroe and Maxim are taking things a day at a time. Maxim shows up to check on his father. Amelia recovered from her gunshot wound but now they all have the trial to face and secrets are still being kept.

The rivalry between the Hurst's and Monroe's continues. New York still has land to put high-rises on and each family wants to be the one to do it.

Braylin finally talked Kara into going to take a look at her old house. They are going to put it up for sale and he went with her to look around to see if there is anything she wants to keep.

While going through some old boxes in the garage they found a small chest. They couldn't believe the things they found inside. They decided to keep what they found to themselves. There's nothing that could lift the spirits of their family members more than what they discovered.

When Christmas arrives everyone is gathered around the table to give thanks. Kara and Darla head up the cooking of their dinner preferring to have some major involvement. Nana Rita's house is full of people. Briana, Stassi and Kevin have all come to New York to join the rest of the family.

It's been a hectic day and Kara starts to worry about what they found in her garage. When Liam was hiding there she never thought to check it out.

She's nervous about the response they may get. It's kept her awake at night and it's something she knows she would have a hard time dealing with where she in similar circumstances. She has her own problems dealing with what happened between her and her mother. She still thinks about the things her mother said to her and wonders if it's possible for them to have a better relationship.

She's torn with the idea. Braylin has told her that you only get one mother and she should do everything in her power despite their differences to maintain some connection although he doesn't believe for a minute that Amelia can be trusted so his advice just confuses Kara.

Kara and Braylin decide to wait until Christmas day is mostly over and all of the presents have been opened. They've been whispering and holding hands like two lovebirds should be.

They ask everyone to come into the family room. Asking Alexandra and Lester to have a seat. Kara holds the package in her hand as she and Braylin approach them.

They present the package to them telling them of Liam hiding out in Kara's house. Alexandra can't imagine what it is. Lester stands next to her as she opens the package.

Inside the envelope is a picture of James Monroe holding a baby...a new born baby? There are other pictures of the new born in the hospital nursery, being held by a nurse and there's even a picture with its mother who was unconscious at the time. Alexandra Kerr-Hurst.

Enclosed are documents from the adoption agency. Lead to where the youngest current member of the Hurst family may be. He will be about three years old now and he looks a lot like his daddy, Lester.

There are so many hugs and cries in the room from everyone it goes on for a while.

After everything is talked about until late into the night. Kara and Braylin climb the stairs to their own room but Braylin has just one more present. He presents it to Kara. He didn't want to do it on Christmas Day. No that's not like them. Their relationships has been so unorthodox since the day they met.

He get's down on one knee at the top of his Nana Rita's stairway in front of Kara. His family is behind him gather all around the stairs to get a good view. He's nervous having never done anything like this before he doesn't plan to ever do it again.

Taking the box from his cousin standing behind him and his brothers next to him.

He tells Kara.

"The day we met I knew there was a question I wanted to ask you but I had to wait. I think you forgot it until recently but it's always been on my mind. You asked me what it was a few months ago and I almost gave it away then."

"I'd like to ask you it now?"

"Kara Marissa Santino....I love you desperately, Will You Marry Me?" He waits and sweats.

She doesn't make him wait for it long she gives him his answer right away jumping into his arms not giving him a chance to put on the ring.

She says. "I love you with all of my heart and soul. Of course I'll become Mrs. Hurst. The answer is Yes."

*The journey of writing this story has been a positive one for me, thanks for alll of your support, conversations over this story and sharing of emotions.

**I Hope you add this story to your reading list or follow me if you enjoyed it so that you will know when I put out Part 2 of this story thanks to all of your request.

**I want to continue this story and keep it just as exciting and filled with all of the emotions you've experienced in the original so I'm took a break from it to write my a story that was floating around in my head called "Resume Of Romance." Of course just like this story ROR has taken off and now has a life of it's own with a favorite character to love in the form of the male lead Chace Braxton. The fact that I'm using the gorgeous male model David Gandy as my muse for this story might add some spice to it.

---I have written other stories if your interested in Reading them.
