I was working a late night shift at the hospital, along with doctor Lynn. Doctor Lynn was a surgeon and being a nurse, I took over the receptionist's job. We were almost the only ones there. Not even 30 minutes later, a man walked in, but he wasn't a regular man.. he was slim, so slim to the point his ribs and other bones were sticking out. His shirt was torn, but that wasn't the worst part. There was a long scar down his chest, and his skin was as pale as a porcelain doll. I was confused.
"Hi, how can I help you?" I muttered.
He stared at me with a blank expression, his breath so cold that it was piercing my skin.
"Um.. sir?"
His jaw made a pop as he opened his mouth to very slowly speak in a raspy voice. "An eye for an eye is never enough.." Then he repeated. "never.. never... never...."
I felt a little spooked at first but I thought maybe he was just exhausted.
"Uh.. what do you mean?" I asked.
His blank expression faded into a slight crooked smile. "I want to talk to Dr. Lynn." He said firmly.
"Ohh-kay.. what's your na-" I tried to ask until he interrupted me.
"John Black."
"I will be right back." As I turned away to go call Dr. Lynn I heard him whisper: There is one empty seat left in hell.

Chills went down my spine, but I didn't look back nor reply.
I informed Dr. Lynn about a guy named John Black wanting to talk to her. She looked at me for a while before saying: "who..?"
"John Black." I said.
"Are you sure that's his name? Because the guy you are talking about died three years ago during an open heart surgery." She said as she rummaged through the cabinet of files, taking out his folder. My heart dropped when I saw the picture on the corner of the folder. It was him.. It was the same exact man. He had died due to failed open heart surgery.
I said: "One second.." I felt like my legs couldn't carry me anymore, I went back to the lobby shaking,
but.. he wasn't there anymore.

From then, I suffered nightmares of him dying during surgery, him following me around the hospital wherever I went and morbid hallucinations. Whatever that was all about, it's gone, and I never went back to work in that same hospital.
