Jaycee >> Amber Heard

“Let’s go now!” the ever-impatient Arc hurried Dimitri towards the wheel, his eyes sparkling in excitement.
I watched in fascination as Dimitri was sucked into the atmosphere of excitement, calling out orders like a pro.
“Get the mainsail ready!” he shouted, sending the boys lounging in the cabins scrambling to follow orders. They climbed the mast and released the mainsail, allowing the cream coloured cloth to catch the strong sea wind.
I saw him gesture towards my sister and she helped me into the captain’s cabin. I, however, struggled, wanting to watch the crew work.
“Day one and ogling already? Naughty, naughty,” Jay teased but I swatted her away, my seasickness momentarily forgotten.
“Shh… it’s so cool to watch them work,” I murmured, eyes wide as more commands were called out.
“Ready to Tack! Dimitri shouted again, and I glanced over to see the boys firmly holding the rope, shouting a reply back.
The ship turned suddenly and I was sent sprawling across the deck, my seasickness coming back full force.
“That’s it, down to tha cabins we go,” Jaycee said, dragging me forcefully into the cabin, just before I puked my guts out into the bucket nearby.
“Ugh, gross, couldn’t you have not gotten seasickness?” she complained, patting my back gently.
The cabin door open, and I looked up to see the dark haired hunk walk in, nose wrinkled at the pungent smell.
“Still getting used to it I see,” he asked, chuckling.
“Shut up Dimitri,” I groaned, shooting him a weak glare while shooing Jaycee’s hands away.
He laughed lightly, and came up to my bed.
“Don’t worry lass, you’ll get used to it,” he said gently. “I used to be seasick too you know. When I was just a lad I dreamed of sailing the seven seas, but when my chance came my face was greener than yours,” he said, looking embarrassed.
I laughed, then stopped when my stomach churned uncomfortably, but before I could say anything we were interrupted.
“Dimitri!” The door flew open, with Aiden standing at the exit. “Quickly.”
I looked at his frantic face and glanced back at Dimitri, throwing some advice at me before hurrying out the door, with Jaycee hot on his heels.
“Get some sleep and it’ll be over soon.”
I tried to sleep but the loud rumble of thunder scared me, and the swaying wasn’t helping. Looking out the window of the cabin I saw that the sky was turning grey and thunder rumbled a distance away. Hauling myself slowly out of bed, I walked to the window, looking into the rapidly darkening horizon. I saw another flash of lighting and counted silently. When I reached three, the thunder boomed once more.
“The storm is almost right above us. Just about a kilometre out,” I muttered, remembering the trick of counting to calculate how far the storm was away from us.
I could hear footsteps pounding on the roof, running towards the main deck. I was curious, but I did not want to go out there and face the crazy storm out there.
“THE SAIL IS RUNNING!” I heard Dimitri shout, and I immediately cursed.
More footsteps, more frantically this time, hit the wooden floorboards hard, and a loud flash of lighting had everyone swearing. The ship rocked violently and I groaned feeling like crap as the urge to puke overtook me again.
