A smile encapsulated her naturally pink lips. A sweet, melodious laugh had come from the mouth of the divine woman. Her cheeks had hurt from all the laughing and smiling she was doing. It had been so long since anyone had made her feel such a way before.

To see this woman laughing or smiling was a sight to behold. She simply glowed in a heavenly way that showcased all her perfections. In fewer words, May Amberley was wholly breathtaking.

And Ryan Reynolds was no stranger in refuting that. He knew how beautiful May really was. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel drawn to her. There was something so sincere and authentic about May that made Ryan feel connected to her.

The two friends had been in contact for only two months, but it felt like they've known each other for a lifetime. They were fast friends and were inseparable. If they weren't together, they were texting or calling each other, and vice versa.

Not to mention, they were always interacting on social media, which made people even more dubious of their newly evolving relationship.

Growing stomps had made the two friends frown at each other, their eyes turning attention to the figure who had rashly entered the living room. Luna Grace, May's best friend and roommate, had her laptop in hand, her lips pursed, and eyebrows raised.

"Uh, Luna? Is something wrong?" May inquired, staring at her friend in question.

The singer remained quiet, setting the laptop down onto the coffee table in front of the two adults. Luna tapped on the screen, her nails creating a tapping sound. "Explain," Luna demanded, her hands finding their way to her hips.

May and Ryan took a look at the article that was placed in front of them, skimming through it. Both looked unfazed, which only made Luna more capricious. "What's there to explain? Another bogus tabloid turning something into nothing," May nonchalantly stated.

Luna scolded at her best friend, growing impatient. "May, come out in the kitchen with me for a second," she insisted.

The brunette gave her friend a puzzled expression, her eyes glancing at Ryan, who just shrugged. She sighed, telling Ryan she would be right back. Luna and May walked into the kitchen, silence overtaking for a few seconds.

"So?" May queried.

Luna crossed her arms over her chest. "You're telling me that 'bogus' article doesn't have a little bit of truth to it?"

May frowned. "What truth? That Ryan and I could potentially have something more than a friendship?" Luna nodded rapidly. "Luna, you do realize Ryan just ended things with his wife, quite literally two months ago. Not to mention, the man has three kids! Plus, he's double my age!" The brunette snapped.

Luna rolled her eyes, inwardly groaning. "Forget all that. You can't tell me that there isn't some sort of feeling there that is more than friendly. I can see it, May. You quite literally glow when you're around him," she concluded.

May chewed on her lower lip, trying to take in everything her friend just vocalized to her. She knew there was something there. May definitely couldn't deny that.

How could she?

She knew how happy being Ryan made her. She could feel a gravitational pull between them; it was tangible.

She eventually sighed after a minute. "You're right. There is something there, but until Ryan and I discuss whatever that is, please don't pull something like again."

Luna smirked, satisfied that she was right. She nodded in response to May's request, before starting to walk away.

"Just don't let this one hurt you," Luna concernedly said.

May gave her friend a small smile. She took in a deep breath, before joining Ryan back in the living room.

The sight of that man could knock the wind out her. He was a sight for sore eyes. She couldn't help but smile at the man, who was carelessly scrolling through his phone.

She took a look at his appearance. Starting from is head, his hair was styled perfectly, specs of gray tousled in his lightly darkened color, to his rounded glasses that framed his face flawlessly.

A navy blue v-neck t-shirt hugged his torso, his biceps bulging out; if May's drool could produce enough water for the Amazon River, it would've. Dark-washed jeans clung around his legs, paired with black sneakers.

The man in front of her was the epitome of a Greek God.

"Everything okay?" Ryan's voice broke May out of her unholy thoughts. She nodded, taking a seat beside the man on the couch.

"I hate to cut this visit short, but I have to pick my girls up from Blake's," Ryan mentioned, glancing up at May's now pouting face.

He poked her cheek, provoking the girl to break out into a grin. "You know I would love to stay, but daddy duty never ends."

The image of Ryan with his kids made May's stomach flip flop. She knew he was an amazing dad, but to see him in action is a sight she is waiting to witness.

"I know," May said, nodding in understanding. "Now, go see your kids, old man," she joked, giggling softly.

Ryan grinned, taking his jacket from the arm of the couch before standing up. He hesitated before leaning down and placing a kiss upon her cheek. His lips were warm against her cheek, inflaming an electric shock to surge down her spine. He pulled back, their faces only inches away from each other.

"I'll call you," Ryan stated, exiting the apartment.

May didn't move from her spot on the couch. Her fingers touched the cheek Ryan kissed, the burning sensation was left tingling.

A grin as wide as a Cheshire Cat appeared on the brunette's face. She didn't know how or why Ryan made her feel these feelings, but what she did know, is she didn't want these feelings to ever go away.
