And for the first time in a while, I felt sympathy for another thing. She was crying when she greeted me.

"Are you okay?"I asked, holding out my hand for her to take it. She was hesitant at first but then put her tiny hand in mine. She recoiled her hand, and I looked down. My hand had two copper enerscas in it.
"Can you please help me?" she asked, her eyes looking more sad. "He's so mean to me. And i can't take another beating! I promise I'm a good girl! I don't do anything he accuses me for! "

I placed the enerscas back in her hand, and got on my knees to meet her level. Then I began to notice all the bruises and scars on her arms and face.

"I don't want your money." I said softly to her. "I'll help you."
She reminded me so much of when I was a kid. I felt obliged to help her.  She showed me to her house.

"My mom's not home right now." She said, quietly enough so only I could hear. "He hurts my mom too."

I opened the door. And there he was, sitting on the couch. Asleep, passed out drunk.

"Wake up." I demanded, glancing behind my shoulder to where the little girl was.

"Oh the little bitch tried to get help did she?" he hiccuped, standing up.

"She didn't try to get help." I stated harsly. "She did get help."
He laughed and walked over to me, wobbling all the way.
"You're nothing." He hiccuped, his face very close to mine.
I could smell the ale in his breath. Very cheap, by the smell of it.

"You're right." I laughed, grabbing my knife. "I'm nothing."
He fell back, shocked and in pain. He looked down, and saw the glistering knife in his stomach.
It was glistening with his blood.

"You're going to bleed out in ten minutes. And I can't wait to watch." I laughed again, pulling the knife out, then stabbing him again.
"Maybe eight minutes now." Again. "Six?" Again. "Four." Again. "Two." I left him bleeding on the floor.

"You're safe now." I grabbed the girl, and hugged her. "No one's going to hurt you ever again."

She began crying again. "Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you."

I cried as well. "Goodbye."
I left her with her mom. She was safe now. And I was somewhat content.
