10. Soulmate

Will you let me be your soulmate?

Might I be the one for you?

Wish if I may have the courage,

To let you be my soulmate too.

We are pioneers on a voyage,

We are dreamers with great hopes.

We were born to find each other,

Walk the distance and seek the truth.

I will shine my heart's light on you,

Rid the darkness from your skies.

I will place my hand in your hand,

Give you calm to ease your pain.

I will cry when you are crying,

When you smile, we'll smile as one.

We will thrive in good and bad times,

Until we reach our journey's end.

Will you let me be your soulmate?

Might I be the one for you?

Wish if I may have the courage,

To let you be my soulmate too.

Author's Note

This poem is a wish!

It's the wish between two soulmates who were destined to find one other and share a full life together. A life of discovery, pain, healing, and thriving through it all.

The poem is loosely based on the Servant Song, a song sung sometimes during catholic masses.

If you haven't already, go ahead and click on the chapter header image or the image below to access the YouTube video of the poem performed as a song by Molly O'Connor.

I hope you like it.
