Start of a new book wassup y'all. Um ok not much to say let's go.

POV: Alejandro
___________________________I need to go to the hospital to see my grandmother. She was diagnosed with dengue fever last month but she's only gotten worse. I go and see her everyday just to make sure she's okay. She's not. The doctors said she could die anytime now, but I'm not gonna let that happen. At least I'll try not to let that happen.
My mom comes to visit sometimes, but it's pretty hard since she lives in Arizona now. I always had a special connection with my grandmother. I was always the favorite grandchild, no matter how many more came along, I was always the favorite. My grandmother saw something special in me. Something no one else can see but her. My mom didn't really see any potential in me. She thought I was just a gay freak. She always called me f slurs and laughed about it. It was hard to believe my mom would change her ways because of her own sons sexuality.
My grandmother always had my back though. That's why she started living with me when she got sick. I had to rush her to the hospital when it got really bad. My grandmother always found a way to lighten the mood when everyone was sad. She was the life of the party. She can be a bit of a Cupid sometimes if you know what I mean. She said there's this boy named Alvaro in the hospital that she met a couple of days ago. She told me he was really cute and that I would like him but I haven't had the courage to talk to him yet.
I'm not really the nervous type, but when it comes to meeting new people, my anxiety is sky high. I have trouble with trust issues not to mention. It just came when my mother started to have bipolar emotions towards me. One day she cared for me and loved me, and the next day it's like she wanted to choke me to death.
"Ughhh! I don't feel like bending down!" A small voice says while groaning.
I look up and see a small boy, around 5'4 maybe, looking down at a teddy bear lying on the floor. He had soft looking dark brown hair and tan skin. I quickly walked up to him to pick up his teddy bear.
"Oh, thank you, you didn't have to do that I could've gotten it." He said in pure innocence.
"No it's ok, I like to help people, it's a habit from my grandmother." I say while laughing a little causing him to giggle.
His giggle was the most amazing sound I have ever heard. I could feel my heart tighten in my chest just looking at him. Am I falling for a boy I don't even know? I mean is he even gay? My thoughts were cut off by a small voice.
"I'm Alvaro. Alvaro Romero." He says sticking his hand out for me to shake it.
I take his hand in mine and instantly feel relaxed. "So you're the famous Alvaro I've heard about." I say while smiling.
"Huh you've heard about me? What do you mean by that?" Alvaro asked confused.
"My grandmother talks about you a lot. Oh um sorry, María Martinez."
"María! She's your grandmother?" Alvaro asked surprised.
"Yep."
"No way she's so young though."
"Yeah she's only 47." I said while laughing.
"Wait 47? How old is your mom?" Alvaro asked curiously.
"My moms 32."
"Wooow." Alvaro said shocked.
I laughed at how surprised he was. It's like he's never heard of teen parents before.
"Your grandmother is really sweet. I see it's gone down generations." Alvaro said smiling.
"Skipped one generation though." I say under my breath.
"What was that?"
"Nothing."
"Hey do you think I can come with you. I mean to see your grandmother?" Alvaro asked.
"Of course, I'm sure she would love to see you again."
We walked down the hall to get to her room. It took a while but we finally arrived. I knocked on the door and looked over to Alvaro. It seemed like he was trying to memorize the room number.
"COME IN!"
I walk in to see my grandmother sitting up on her bed and watching a baseball game.
"Hola abuelita, cómo estás hoy?" I ask.
"Estoy bien Ale." She says.
That's good to hear especially from her.
"Te sientes mejor hoy?"
"No, creo que ha empeorado. No se cuanto tiempo mas tengo." She says with a sad expression.
"Lo siento." Alvaro says.
I looked at him shocked. I didn't expect him to know Spanish. Although now that I'm looking at him he does look Hispanic.
He must've caught me staring because he laughed when he looked my way.
"I'm Hispanic if you're wondering Ale." He says while laughing.
"Hey Alvaro, it's nice to see you again." My grandma says.
"You too María." Alvaro said while smiling to my grandmother.
His smile was the cutest thing I've ever seen. His eyes light up the room. Everything about him makes me fall head over heels for him. I know we've only known each other for a while, but I can't just reject the feeling I have for him. He's perfect.
He will be mine. No matter how long it takes, no matter how much effort I use. I will make him mine.
