"Hello."

"Hello. Yes is the Alejandro Rosario?"

"Yes. What's wrong? Is my grandmother okay?"

"I'm sorry sir, she didn't make it."

Tears running down my cheeks. My body is so... numb. I felt so... lifeless. The only person in this world who had unconditional love for me, no matter what the situation, is gone. I fell to my knees as I cried. My lips trembling. I started chewing on my lower lip as tears continued to form uncontrollably.

Is she really dead?

The question replaying over and over again in my head. Does Alvaro know? Does my mom know? Would she even care?

I have to tell Mattia. He was always another one of her favorites. He visited her when he could. I remember when he was too afraid to come out to his parents, he knew my grandmother would love him no matter what. This is gonna be hard to tell him.

I slowly got up walking to my phone I threw across the room. Dialing his number as my fingers slightly bled from the cracked screen. The ringing of the phone felt endless until he finally picked up.

"Hello"

"Hey Mattia"

"Bro are you ok you sound like you've been crying"

"I'm ok but what're you doing today"

"I'm on my way to see Gams"

Gams. He always insisted on calling her that. Ever since his grandmother passed he saw my grandmother as his second one. Just the thought of her makes me want to break down.

"Hey before you go can you come over to my house"

"Um sure is it important"

"Very important"

"Ok I'm on my way"

"Thank you"

"No problem Ale"

I hung up the phone looking around my room. The silence quickly taking over my mind. It was like I was so empty without her. No, I am so empty without her. There's so little other people I trusted and loved like I did her.

Yesterday she was fine. She looked so happy. She look unbothered. She was laughing so much. Oh how I miss her laugh already. Her smile, her voice, her presence. They're all gone.

My thoughts were cut off by a knock on my door. I slowly get up off of my bed, making my way (downtown I'm sorry i had to.) to the door. I didn't realize it until I felt something wet on my shirt. Tears. I quickly wipe them away before I open the door, not to worry Mattia too much.

"Hey Ale- woah you okay? You look like shit man."

"Can you just please come in we need to talk."
