Chapter 2

Riley Rayfall heard someone speaking.. But she felt too tired and weak to look. So she focused on their words..

"... Are you alight? Do you need anything?"

Riley was forced into a small coughing fit, making the person jump a bit. "Oh- still sick I see.. Take this medicine; it should help stop the coughing.. And this next one will help your body return to normal temperature." He spoke.

Riley bit her lip nervously. "How.. Do I know you're not going to poison me.. Or drug me?" She asked cautiously, shifting uncomfortably in the bed. The person fluffed her pillow and sighed. "Because I wouldn't have saved you only to poison you. Just... trust me."

Riley sensed the spoon of medicine in front of her. She felt another coughing for coming on, and grew desperate. 'I can't train in this condition... And I want to see this guy who 'saved' me.' She thought and cursed herself as she took the medicine.

She gagged in disgust. Green Apple. The guy handed her a water bottle and Riley drank half of its in a single swig. "Ugh.. Gross... At least I know now it's medicine.." She replied sheepishly, and the guy chuckled.

"Just one more.. and trust me; this will taste better." He gave her another spoonful of medicine. Riley sighed and took that dose as well, and it was bubblegum. Her favourite!.. But still quite gross. So she drank the rest of the water and sighed.

She felt something be placed on her forehead... A warm cloth. Her eyes slowly opened again, the medicine working it's magic. "Ah, good. Now you can see that I am-"

"Omg you're a ninja!" Riley gasped. "You're.. Uh.. Uh.. Zane!"

Zane smiled and nodded. "Now you see I'm not going to hurt you." He finished his sentence. Riley smiled. "Thanks for saving me, Zane.. It's really an honour to meet you."

"Is it? Well.. I'm flattered but I see no reason to be honoured.. I'm like you.. Sort of." He replied with a smile. "I'm just-- I've always wanted to meet you. You're an awesome nindroid!" Riley fangirled a bit, then cooled down.

"Eheh.. Sorry..." She blushed a bit embarrassed. He chuckled. "It's fine. If you don't mind me asking... What's your name? And why were you out in such a terrible blizzard?" He tilted his head a bit.

"My name is Riley Rayfall... Ninja-in-self training. I was out looking for... My.." Riley froze up, and Zane stared confused. "Ms Riley?"

"My.. Friends! Ah no! I.. I need to find them!" She shot up in bed, quickly being shot down by pains shocking her nerves. "Agh-!" She cringed in pain and was forced down by Zane. "Calm down- please. You got injured badly by the storm... You need to stay in bed." He pleaded softly.

Riley growled to herself. "But I can't.. Leave.." She trembled in anger of herself. "If it helps.. We did find somebody else out there.. one of my brothers found her... She has pink hair.." Zane replied slowly.

"Abby!" Riley gasped. "Where is she? Please tell me she's okay!"

Zane smiled and nodded. "She's just fine. We found her in a cave with some animals who were keeping her warm..."

"That's Abby for you.." Riley sighed in relief. "She's asleep in Lloyd's room..."

"The green ninja is here?.. Ooh gosh.." Riley laughed nervously. "What?" Zane asked confused.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!"

"What in Ninjago was that?!" A male voice yelps from outside. Jay.

"Abby's awake." Riley rolled her eyes and smirked. Lloyd shoved Abby into the room, covering his ears. "Oww.. My poor ears.." He whined and walked out.

"Riley!" Abby leaped into Riley's arms and hugged her tightly. "Hey Abby.. So glad you're not hurt." She smiled as Abby hopped back.

"Of course I'm not. But.. Omg. Lloyd Garmadon.. Green ninja.. Here!" Abby squealed like a fangirl. "I'm past that phase... But don't get too comfy.. I doubt we'll be staying long." Riley sighed.

"Not exactly..." An older voice chuckled as he walked in. "Sensei?" Zane turned to the older guy and stared. "Riley, Abby... You are skilled fighters, correct?" Wu asked.

"Well.. We're ninjas in self training." Riley corrected with a smile. "I see.. And your missing friends are too. I'd like to offer you all a chance to be a real ninja... Stay with us and train." Sensei Wu said with a grin.

"Wh- Really?! That's amazing.." Abby smiled brightly. "What do you say?" Zane asked Riley hopefully. She and Abby exchanged glances, then grinned wide.

"YES!"

A third voice had joined in. Abby and Riley looked around confused, then saw her in the doorway...

Jade Anderson.

"Jade!" The two girls yelped happily. Jade smirked smugly and walked in, revealing a slightly beat up Cole not far behind her. Abby gasped. "Jade! You hurt a ninja?"

"Hey, he started it by calling me a girl." Jade snapped and put her hands on her hips. "But.. Are you not a girl?" Zane asked confused. "Keh.. I may be a girl; but I hate being defined as one. I'm no softy, like my friends..." She glanced back and smiled. "Uh.. No offence."

"None taken." Abby smiled softly. "A lot taken." Riley pouted. "Anywhoooo.. Yes, we'd love to be ninja."

Sensei nodded. "I certainly see potential in all of you... Especially you, Riley... I look forward to you staying with us. Training begins tomorrow; we got you clean clothes, and you each share a room with the ninja of your choice... For comfort and safety reasons of course."

"Dibs on Lloyd!" Abby called out and giggled. "Fine. But you can't squeal like that every day!" Lloyd replied stubbornly from outside the room. "Cole and Jade? You two are going to share a room." Riley ordered. "What?! She's crazy!!" Cole yelped from outside. "I don't mind." Jade replied, flushing slightly.

"That can leave Jay with Luna... They can tolerate each other... And then Cassie with Kai.. She should be able to keep him calm." Abby teased with a giggle.

"But who will you stay with, Riles?" Jade asked suspiciously. "She can stay with me." Zane replied swiftly. Riley looked at Zane and he smiled. "Unless Ms Rayfall would like to be alone, of course..."

"No no.. I don't mind." Riley replied with a giggle. "Show these girls their rooms while the others locate the 2 missing friends." Sensei Wu ordered, and everyone nodded. Zane took Riley to his room, Lloyd took Abby to his, and Jade dragged Cole to his room.
