Platinum Hearts

Chapter 3

Zane's room was a decent size. It had a bunk bed, night stand, 2 closets, a couch, and a bathroom. Riley looked around the room. It wasn't nearly decorated.. The floor was smooth, birch wood, and the walls were.. Some other plank she couldn't identify.

"I want to make sure you get a choice of which bed you want." Zane said as he put down his training bag in his closet. "That's cool, thanks. I.. Would prefer the top." Riley replied and leaped up. It was comfy! Perfect mattress and amazing fluffy pillow!

"The bottom one was my original bed.. So this won't change." He shrugged to himself. "Why don't you try on your ninja outfit? We can do a bit of early practice with spinjitsu if it interests you."

Riley pulled out a hanger with a covered ninja outfit, and ran into the bathroom. Taking only 3 minutes to change, she came out in a stunning purple ninja outfit, silver lining it. There was a white star pin on the front outline, and 3 silver stars down the right side. She also had light purple tights.

Zane stared at her in amazement. "That suits you.. Amazingly. I'm surprised Sensei Wu knew you'd fit it.." He smiled. Riley blushed a bit and laughed. "Heh, thanks. I was wondering if we could get to know each other a bit before dinner?"

"Ah! Forgive me, but I am suppose to make dinner tonight." Zane face palmed and chuckled to himself. "It's alright.. Could I help?" She asked in delight. "I'm really good at cooking!"

"I'd love the help. Let's go. Keep the suit on." Zane replied and walked out, followed by Riley.

"So.. What's on the menu tonight, Zane?" Riley asked tilting her head. The nindroid got out a large soup pan and placed it on the element. "Veggie Soup. The others think there's sugar in it.. But it's all veggies." Zane replied with a small smirk.

"Wow. It's that good, huh?" Riley giggled a bit. "Apparently. Please grab me some veggies from the fridge." Zane replied as he turned on the oven element.

Riley nodded and opened the fridge, seeing all the veggies in a corner. 'Perfect.' She took the food out and put them on the counter. "I didn't know what to grab so I grabbed it all." She laughed nervously, and Zane smirked. "Alright.. I need to keep stirring the oils and liquids, so you need to cut up the veggies and toss them in."

Riley's eyes lit up and she grinned. "Okay, chef! I'm ready!" She got out a good knife and waited. They locked eyes and nodded firmly.

"... Tomato!"

Riley cut up the tomato in 5 seconds flat.

"Potato!"

"Carrots!"

"Radish!"

"More carrots!"

Within a half minute, all the veggies were cut and in the pot. Zane stirred it slowly, gazing at Riley in surprise. Riley waited a few seconds and rolled her eyes. "Your welcome, Zane."

Zane snapped back into reality and blinked. "Right! Thank you, Riley. I appreciate the help."

"What's cooking? I'm starved!" Cole licked his lips as he peeked in. Followed by Kai, Jay, Lloyd, Abby, Jade, and Sensei Wu.

"Veggie soup!" Riley smiled and placed the bowls out. "Awesome!" Lloyd fist bumped Jay as they all sat down, along with a new face.

"Who is this?" Zane asked with a raised brow as he poured soup into the girl's bowl. The girl looked at the table silently, her hair hanging in her face. "Wha- Cassie!" Jade yelped. The girl looked up and gasped, seeing Jade, Abby and Riley.

"We just found her.. I assume this is your other friend?" Wu smiled. "Yeah. That leaves... Luna." Abby said as she exchanged glances with Cassie, who shook her head. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen her since the blizzard started.." She said in a soft voice, and Kai raised a brow at her as he took a mouthful of soup.

"She speaks?" Jay asked and blinked. "Of course she does! She's just shy!" Kai shot back. Cassie's hair spiked a bit, like an angry cat's fur, and glared at Kai, who gulped. "Pardon?" She asked in an innocent voice.

"I.. Uh.. Said you're shy..?" Kai said quieter. Cassie stood up, and let out a breath. "Look; let's get one thing straight.. I am not shy. If I am called that.. I will make your life a living hell. Do I make myself clear?" She spoke coldly, eyes shooting darts through Kai.

"... Yes." Kai muttered.

"Yep!" Cole bit his lip.

"Yeah." Lloyd gulped.

"Totally!" Jay yelped.

"Crystal!" Zane added.

Cassie smiled softly and sat down again. "Thank you. Sorry Sensei." She began eating her soup. Sensei Wu blinked, then chuckled. "We got some tough cookies here.. Good to keep you all in line."

The four girls glared with a cute, evil look at the ninjas. The ninjas all gulped. "Aw.. How come I don't get an evil roommate?!" Jay whined with a pouty face. "Calm down.. Luna will be found soon; which means you'll have someone just as annoying as you in no time." Abby giggled.

"So with training tomorrow, we want to find Luna before we start training. Don't want her behind." Sensei explained. Everybody nodded.

"Don't let her haunt your dreams."

"Huh?" Jay looked at Jade.

"Nothing."
