Rambo ran out of the open door, finally free. His owner kept him inside all winter! He ran to Main street and saw all the new flowers. Rambo walked down the street that winded down to Town Square Park. Dogs! I haven't seen another dog since fall. Rambo barked at the dogs, and Shadow turned towards him. "Rambo?"
"Shadow!" He ran towards her, then stopped seeing her angry expression.
"What?" Rambo said. Shadow sighed. "I just missed you." She nuzzled under his chin. He wagged his short tail. "I really am sorry. My owner locked me up inside all winter." He said. She did miss me. He thought happily. Shadow didnt seem to care about the details. He nuzzled her. "Dont worry, I ran away." He woofed. She looked surprised. "But you love your owner!" She protested.
"No, he locked me up an entire season." Rambo assured her. "Plus, I always envied the strays." Shadow shrugged slightly. Rambo nuzzled her warmly. "Dont worry..." he repeated and breathed in her scent. She smells...warm... he shook his head. Ugh why do feel this way? I dont fall for girls. They fall for me. Rambo thought disgustedly. Shadow sure didnt notice, her eyes closed. Rambo smiled at her "Well I am on the run. Being that I feed myself." he said while she cringed. He looked confused. "Was it something I said?" he asked. Shadow turned. "Yeah." Rambo frowned. Being a grown-up is harder than they usually say....
He curled up on a ratty couch in a junkyard. It wasn't clean, in one whole peice, or that comfortable, but Rambo couldn't find a better place. Maybe I can make it more comfortable... he thought and frowned. Being a stray blows. Why did it look so cool? He saw a pretty white poodle passing. He thought for a second. I shouldn't catcall...or should I? Nah, Shadow is much more beautiful. Rambo went back to sleep. He dreamed about walking with Shadow. It was a great dream.
