Shadow woke up in her owner, Kat's bed. Shadow took a long stretch, yawning. She walked out the dog door to the medium-sized backyard. The grass was growing back from winter. Shadow shook out her long fur. Much better, she thinks. Shadow squeezed through the opening in the fence, leaving a bit of hair behind on the sides of the opening. Shadow trotted along for a good run, when she saw Rambo talking to a dog. Immediately suspicious, she hid in a bush to listen to him.

"Who is the new girl you are dating?" The smaller, squeaky voice said.

"None of your business." The familiar voice of Rambo spoke.

"Dont snap at me! I thought we were friends, Bo." The small voice sounded fake- hurt.

"You arent fooling anyone, Macho." Rambo said. "And its Rambo now. No more 'Bo'." Rambo started walking away. Shadow was puzzled. That doesn't sound like Rambo! She thought, a little hurt he didn't mention her to a friend. Maybe he was embarrassed of her. Shadow narrowed her eyes, determined to find a reason. She jumped out of the bush, a few branches stuck in it. She pulled them out with her teeth and ran after Rambo, silver fur streaming behind her. Rambo paused, seeing her.

"What was that about?" She demands, tail up.

"What was what?" He said, eyes showing confusion.

"You and your friend." She said, calming down a bit. He looked at her.

"You spied on me?" He growled. She jumped back.

"Rambo, stop." She said, hiding all fear.

"That guy isnt my friend. He is a terrible dog and doesn't need to know about you."

The answer surprised Shadow.
