Savior

The letter

At his office Dr.Saltzman had decided to take a break from working when Landon came in rushing. The panic in his face made it clear he didn't have time to even knock.
"Dr.Saltzman I need to talk to you right now"
Landon realized after he came in that Alaric was asleep in his desk resting his head in a pile of paperwork he had yet to finish.
"What is it Landon"
Alaric said without even getting a change to wake up properly while removing a piece of paper still stuck to his cheek.
"I was going through some stuff in my room when I came across a letter written to me by Hope Mikaelson 6 months ago"
Landon was desperately looking at Alaric hoping he might have the answer to how he got a letter from Hope.
"How is that possible" Alaric wondered but he had no explanation to give.
"I've only met Hope once when we were 15 and I was still human. But this letter was written years after. I don't understand"
Landon handed the letter to Alaric and as he read the letter out loud Landon was thinking of every word written in it. Maybe because he had memorized the whole letter by now, or maybe because he'd already heard those words before.
"I'm sorry for all the pain I've caused you, nothing will ever make up for what I did to you but I hope one day you can forgive me. You're brave and selfless and that's why I know you will survive this. With love and regret, Hope."
The room was filled with a heavy silent, so heavy you could hear the old floorboards creaking beneath them.
"It must a prank by one of the students. Ever since Hope ran away rumors about her have been flying around. Someone just wants to scare you"
Alaric said but there was something inside of him that told him that the letter wasn't a prank. He chose to ignore it based on the fact that no one had seen Hope in a year.
"Do you really think this is just a prank?" Landon asked and Alaric wanted to tell him no but he knew the right thing to do is to let it go.
"I do. And don't worry we will find out who wrote this and punish them. In the meantime why don't you join Raf, MG and Alyssa on their mission today?"
Alaric suggested but Landon told him that they had already left for their mission to find a werewolf who had gone rouge and attacked a student at Mystic Falls High School. In the chaos of everything Landon forgot to take the letter with him which ended up being left at Alaric's desk.
Far away from the Salvatore Boarding School, into the woods where the sunlight couldn't reach, Alyssa, MG and Rafael at Dr.Saltzman's request had teamed up to find a werewolf. They had been searching since the sunrise, but it felt as tho every step they took was leading them further instead of closer.
MG was using his vampire abilities to hear for any movement while Rafael was trying to pick up a scent using his werewolf abilities. They had forgotten about Alyssa who was further behind them and the sound of snapping twigs forced them to turn around and see Alyssa on the ground.
"Maybe you shouldn't have worn heels to search through the woods"
MG suggested while going to help her up.
Refusing to accept his help, Alyssa stood up and said "They're not heels, they're thigh high boots...which are now ruined" Alyssa used her magic to change into a more comfortable pair of shoes and started walking.
"If you used your magic to help us track him, instead of changing shoes maybe we wouldn't be in this mess" Rafael said with a pointed tone.
"I can't use my magic to track someone without having something that belongs to them. But you can smell other werewolves if you actually focused"
Alyssa pushed back while fighting her way through vines.
"So if you can't use your magic, why are you here exactly? "
Rafael bit back not realizing that they had strayed from the path and were headed deeper into the woods.
"Guys!" MG whispered while listening carefully.
"I'm here to knock out the werewolf you're supposed to find, so we can get out here"
Alyssa yelled and that is when MG stopped and said "I hear something".
The three of them stopped, they had headed so far into the woods they couldn't see the path anymore. Everything was silent except for the wind blowing through the dried leaves, and the sound of an angry werewolf.
What MG didn't expect to hear was the growling which seemed to get louder by the second. It got loud enough for Rafael and Alyssa to finally hear it to and before they could turn their heads, Rafael had been thrown against a tree and rendered unconscious. A giant grey wolf with yellow eyes, that looked ready to attack again at any second. MG and Alyssa knew that one wrong move and they would never make it out of those woods.
As the wolf got closer to them, Alyssa had the idea of putting him to sleep with a spell but was distracted when the wolf jumped towards her without a warning.
Without thinking twice MG pushes the wolf away with his vampire speed and they both end up on the ground.
"Dormi Cito" Alyssa chanted so loud it echoed all around the woods. She had put the wolf back to sleep causing it to turn into his human form. A young boy with hair as dark night. Scars all over his body, that they didn't see in his werewolf form. After waking up Raf and Mg came up to see what looked like a victim of abuse and not a monster anymore. Shaking and panting Alyssa said "
I wasn't expecting him to be in his wolf form, in the middle of the day"
followed by MG who stated "It's not even a full moon. How was he in his wolf form?".
Freaked out and still shaken up Rafael said "I don't know, but we need to tie him up and take him to the school before he wakes up again".
Both MG and Rafael were looking at Alyssa who realized they're waiting for her to use her magic and put some clothes on him. After doing so MG and Rafael pick him up and they head back to the school.

It had been a few hours since Josie saw Hope in her vision again and although she tried not to think about it, every time she closed her eyes Hope was there staring at Josie almost as if she wanted to say something. Josie's walking in circles around her room wondering if she should do a spell to remember what happened last night or If she should go and apologize to Penelope about what she said earlier.
Her mind had been spinning out of control and she could use something to distract her from the visions she was seeing but she didn't want to be distracted. Finally after hours of searching she finally realized what she had been looking for, she goes to her bed, to find a box of things she used to own when she was younger, as she takes the box she thinks of the day that she made Hope a bracelet for her 12th birthday, she remembers asking her mom Caroline to buy her a bracelet at the gift shop, going back home and adding a small rose that she made using her magic.

She was so exited to give it her but Lizzie got mad for not being invited to Hope's party and destroying the bracelet. Josie saved the pieces of it, and placed them in the box, but when she looked they weren't there anymore. And finally Josie asks herself the question she had been avoiding for hours: Why was Hope wearing the bracelet if Josie never gave it her
