Thirteen

We slowly pulled up to a huge gate which slowly opened for the car to drive through. After Rick parked the car he turned to me " Before you settle you anywhere your gonna meet our people, together we'll decide if you stay or not" I nodded my head before getting out of the car after Rick and Daryl. As I got out people stared and started to whisper, Rick started walking so I quickly kept his pace and followed him into a church. After a few minutes only a handful of people came in and sat down in front of Rick and myself, which left me confused.

" Thank you for coming in such short notice, on our way home Daryl and I found Anna walking the highway. She asked for help and we brought her here". " Why? We don't have enough food" a woman said " We will, thanks to the Hilltop, but this young woman suffered at the hand of Negan first hand" Rick said " How?" A ginger man asked " He raped me" I said making my voice heard, " Negan had a tendency to take the woman he found hot and I sadly was one of them" I said taking a deep shaky breath. " Why are you here if he does it to everyone?" " Because I ran away, unlike all the other girls. I got pregnant" everyone suddenly sat up and stared at me.

" Negan never had any kids so when he found out he wanted me to be his seventh wife and have his baby. But I didn't want that and I ran". Everyone just stared at me, " How can we believe if she's actually pregnant?" A woman with white hair asked " That's true, she never threw up" " I'm actually surprised at that, I've been throwing up a lot". " Then we make her take a pregnancy test", they all seemed to March me down to their doctors office, asking him for a pregnancy test and waiting as I walked inside the bathroom with both the brown an white haired women. Obviously they didn't trust me which I got, I peed in front of them an handed the test to them as I pulled my pants back up.

The door opened again and they sighed " She's pregnant" " So that part of the story is true, how do we know the rest is? She could have been his fuck buddy". " I'm a twenty four year old woman, Negan was in his fifties before you killed him. Why would I willingly sleep with him?" " Power?". I laughed a little " Trust me, Negan didn't share power. It was him on top or all of us dead. He didn't care, he was a cocky son of a bitch and I'm glad he's dead". They all looked at me unsure before Rick stood forward " Alright you can stay, but we'll be having a close eye on you" " Thank you Rick, I promise I won't be too much trouble. Except maybe the baby" " It's alright, Maggie here is pregnant too".

I turned to the girl from before as she shook my hand " I'm sorry we had to meet with the circumstances, maybe we could help each other through the pregnancy?" " I'd like that" I smiled at her. After I was introduced to everyone, they started walking me to the house I'd be staying at " So Anna is this your first pregnancy?" Maggie asked " Uh no, it's um my third. My ex and I tried twice but they both died" " I'm so sorry" " It's okay, my three babies are together in heaven" " Three?" " My ex, went on a run and never made it home. Negan said he was surrounded" " Negan told you that? How do you know he didn't kill him?". I stopped in my tracks, wait could that be possible? Would Negan have killed Mike? But for what? Negan wouldn't kill Mike for me, would he?

Rick cleared his throat, re catching my focus as he showed me the house I'd be living in. " This place is huge" " It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms" " Jesus", Rick opened the door and walked me around the house before stopping at a door " And this will be your room" he said as he opened the door to a massive bed, I couldn't help but cover my mouth. " Bathroom is down the hall, take a shower and we'll find you something clean to wear" " Thank you Rick" I smiled. I quickly pulled a notepad out of my bag before grabbing a towel and walking into the bathroom. I turned the water on before writing down everything they had told me. I hid it in my towel before stripping of my clothes and stepping into the hot shower.

I couldn't believe it! Actual hot water to shower in, I'm defiantly living here after Negan takes this place over. After washing myself well enough I covered my self with the towel, running into my room and getting dressed in the top and skirt Rick left for me. I put my things away before hiding my notebook under some of my clothes. I walked downstairs and smiled at everyone " Running hot water! Proper houses and beds, quiet streets. This place is a dream" " Negan's place not have any of that?" " No, we shower in freezing water from buckets. Squeaky, old broken beds and everywhere you look there's just gun after gun. Like a prison", " Well your safe here with us as long as you obey our rules and contribute to our community. And since you are pregnant we're not gonna risk you out there, so you'll be helping Maggie with choirs".

I nodded " Sounds fun" " Get some sleep, I'll wake you up in the morning" I nodded my head before walking into my room and closing the door behind me. I changed into pjs and lay in the big bed, it felt so empty not having Negan beside me. But I had a small grin to my face, of course they weren't telling me a lot, but with the small amount of information I have gathered, it's enough to start. Negan is probably worried out of his head right now, but my operation has finally begun and I'll be sure make him proud.
