Nathan had been wondering all night, Brooke and Lucas still weren't there, they weren't answering their phones, that's when he started to get worried. Then he heard his phone ringing and rushed to the sound, it was their mother. "Mom?"

"Hey  Nathan."

"Have you heard from Luke, they never showed up?"

"You need to come to the hospital, Lucas and Brooke were in a bad car accident, i will tell you more when you get here."

"I'm on my way." Nathan said, rushing to his car. He drove to the hospital praying they were both okay.

He rushed in the hospital, seeing his mother Karen on the sofa, sitting quietly. "Mom!"

"Nathan!" She said hugging him. "Wha--"

"They haven't come out yet."

"Are they?"
"We don't know Nate." Karen said starting to cry.
"Where's dad?" He asked hugging his mom.
"Oh well I called him, he said he would come when he could. You know your father."

"Mrs Scott?" The doctor said.

Karen and Nathan stood from their seats, and the doctor continued. "Your son is doing fine, he has a few scratches but he will be fine."

"Oh thank God." Karen said with a relief."
"And Brooke?" Nathan said worriedly.
"May I ask who you are sir?"

"She's my best friend. Is she?"

"Brooke is in a coma, she has hurt very bad, she had an impact that hit her head very bad making her brain spin in different patterns. We can't tell when she would wake up, it could be an hour, or a day, or even months."the doctor left.

Nathan sighed and sat down, burying his hands into his head. "Do you want to go see your brother, I think we should ask him what happened."
Nathan nodded following Karen into Lucas' hospital room.

They entered the room, making Lucas anxious, he started to get up in a seated position but let out a loud scream of pain. "Mom? Nate? Ahhh!!"

"Lucas be careful! Nathan help him up!" Karen said as Nate grabbed his arm, lifting him up.
"How is Brooke?" Lucas asked them

"She isn't waking up Luke...they said her brain damage is really bad." Nathan said tearing up. Luke looked confused, he was fine but Brooke wasn't, he wanted to see her. "Can I see her?" He asked.

"They said no one can because she isn't doing well at all, her brain is spinning in directions they can't even match and they said it's never been this bad." Karen said rubbing Luke's arm.

"Just rest, we are gonna go in the waiting room."

3 days later••••

Brooke still wasn't awake, they were letting Lucas out today, but he insisted on staying in the waiting room with them...Haley & Peyton were there too, even though Peyton & Brooke were former best friends, she still cared. Haley was Nathan's girlfriend, but also Brookes good friend. They were all so worried about her. Karen wasn't at the hospital anymore, she decided to go to work but asked for updates every hour.
There was still no update. She was the same.

They all four kept quiet, just waiting. Nathan was so worried. They had been best friends for 3 years now. She knew Peyton since they were kids and even though Peyton didn't want to admit it, she was scared too. Finally Haley spoke up, breaking the silence. "So, what even happened, Lucas?"

"We were at a light, it had just turned red so Brooke unbuckled and got into the drivers seat on top of me and we started making out, we thought it would be red a little longer but it wasn't. It was snowing & the roads were slippery, the semi came up and slammed into us, all I remember-" his voice broke "all I remember was hearing her scream and then she flew through the window, next thing I knew I was in that hospital room."

They were all so so speechless, Peyton always had a huge crush on Lucas so she hated this topic of them. Peyton & Brooke stopped being friends because she lied about liking her boyfriend. The drama was high.

"I just want her to be okay." Nathan said "she is my best friend, I can't lose her."

"She is my everything." Lucas replied and Nathan buried his face in his hands.
