"Jeff, who is it?" Sally moves around Jeff, and despite his attempts to keep her hidden, she peeks through to see who is in their apartment. When she sees who it is, she freezes."Hey Sally, It's Jack. Did you miss me?"
Jeff doesn't let Sally answer. He rushes at Jack and holds his knife against Jack's neck in a split second. Jack doesn't move, but he can tell that Jeff is not messing around. Jeff's grip on his knife loosens as his hand shakes, but he continues to hold it as tightly as he can. Sally has tears in her eyes, but when she starts trying to walk into the apartment, Jeff turns around and yells for Sally to stay put.
"Don't come in here Sally, or this traitor will think we still care about him."
Sally doesn't move, but she shakes her head slightly at Jeff's words. Jeff turns back to face Jack, and he frowns when he sees that Jack has raised his hands up in surrender.
"Give me one good reason that I shouldn't skin you alive right now you traitorous bastard!" Jeff yells in Jack's face.
"Actually, I can give you two. Firstly, I know what happened to Toby and Masky," Jack says with one finger raised. Jeff widens his eyes in surprise and Sally gasps lightly by the front door. Jack raises a second finger and looks Jeff dead in the eyes. "And secondly, I know how to save them."
When Jeff hears this, he removes the blade from Jack's neck. Jeff starts to walk away, but he quickly turns around again and throws his knife straight at Jack. Jack raises his hand and catches it, but it cuts his hand in the process. Jack places the knife on the ground and cups his bleeding hand. He doesn't say anything, and so Jeff steps back and gestures for Sally to come in. Sally finally walks all the way into the apartment, and when she is finally face-to-face with Jack, she starts crying. She runs to hug him, and despite Jeff's protests, Jack bends down to hug her too. It has been years since Jeff and Sally have seen Jack. After Jack left them, he went off the map. No one could find him, and they all assumed he either died or had betrayed them, and even with all of the hard feelings between them, something about seeing him hug Sally had Jeff's heart feeling strange.
Sally continued to hug Jack and is crying even harder now. Jeff notices, however, that even though he can't hear Jack making any sounds, he can see Jack's shoulders moving slightly, as though he was crying silently. Jeff sighs, and walks to the kitchen ignoring the hugging people in the living room. He goes to the fridge and pulls out a bottle of beer and starts drinking it.
"So traitor, how do we find them?"
Jack slowly lets go of Sally and goes to sit on the couch. He sits down and Sally runs to him and sits next to Jack. Jeff frowns at this but doesn't say anything about it. Jack looks to Jeff and smiles slightly under his mask.
"I can't answer that, but I know someone who can."
"Great then, let's go now to find them." Jeff starts to walk to the front door when Jack interrupts him.
"We should wait until tomorrow night to go." Jeff frowns for the umpteenth time and walks angrily towards Jack.
"Oh yeah? And why is that huh? So that you can spend more time with us gaining our trust just to leave us again?" Jeff was loud, but Jack was unresponsive to his aggression.
"We should leave tomorrow night because there are tons of police everywhere since you both decided to be extra brutal with your kill tonight."
Jeff opens his mouth to retaliate but realizes that Jack is right. He closes his mouth and nods wordlessly before leaving the room. He walks to the bedroom and calls for Sally to join him as he sleeps.
