The smell of countless unread books tears Namjoon’s heart as he shuffles through the cardboard box left in the corner of a thrift store he was browsing through. “The Great Warlock, War and Peace Spells, Little Faes, Gnomeo and Juliet…,” he mutters the titles to himself, double-tapping the top of each and every one of them up, sending the books floating into his cart. He clicks his tongue doing this too, “How can other humans and creatures have the soul to throw away such beautiful books of literature?”
“Believe it or not, people nowadays prefer to read fanfiction instead of actual books," a stranger acknowledged. Namjoon looked to his right to see a tall man with Bratz-like lips, his clothes were distinctly casual but quite Victorian in comparison to the current modern fashion. He smiled slightly, but instead of him returning it, he simply looked at him in confusion. Fanfiction? Why would anyone want to write fiction about machines that cool you down?
"What do you mean fanfiction? Fiction about those machines that swirl around and cool you down?," Namjoon asks stupidly. The dark locked man giggles after a long pause. "Please tell me you're joking! Have you not ever been on the magicnet?" he laughs. It’s true… Namjoon really hasn't ever been on the magicnet other than for school necessities. He wasn’t a complete fan of social media or websites involved with interacting with the general public. He always preferred to be "Old School". Besides, he’s heard from friends just how toxic the magicnet can be.
"Uh… no?" He responds. "Wow, I never thought I'd see the light of day where someone didn't know what fanfiction is! I hope you don't come across them anytime soon. Y'know what… I like you! You remind me of an old soul… the name is Seokjin by the way!" He finally introduced and reached out his hand, expecting Namjoon to shake it. And he does. "Namjoon," he says shyly.
Next thing you know they exchange phone numbers and a couple of years later become amazing friends.

“Aphrodite isn’t even taking up my offer! I am so frustrated! I swear if I end up having to deal with my eyebags again I’m going to actually drop kick each and every candle,” Seokjin complains, trying to burn out the candles and re-lighting them assuming that’s the issue. Meanwhile, Namjoon is lounging on his couch, studying for his annual Wizarding exam. He brushes his blond bangs away from his forehead and adjusts his eyes on the words. “You’re already as pretty as you can get, I don’t understand why you’re having such a fit,” He comments. “You see, although I was naturally born with this face… It takes quite a lot to maintain it,” he says, removing his offering, he assumed Aphrodite isn’t quite in the mood for the most expensive flowers he could find in the forest. He groans and gives up, “I had to walk for hours to find these because no way in heck was I going to pay for some, and now she doesn’t want them?” Namjoon could only shake his head and chuckle a bit. He knows he’s going to have to deal with a crying Seokjin for the next month.
A sudden burst through the door opens, it’s Yoongi and Hoseok. “Hey! We’ve been banging on the door for about an hour! Yoon had to pick the lock after we spent 15 minutes waiting outside.” Hoseok bellows. Seokjin and Namjoon look stunned, they forgot they were coming over to hang out. “I was debating whether or not I should kick the door down, but then my conscious told me I’m basically your repairman. I’d have to fix it regardless,” Yoongi comments. Seokjin smiles mischievously, knowing its the truth. He whines and forces Yoongi to come over to fix things he has no clue about repairing. Although, Yoongi is an Alchemist, not a repairman. Such a pet peeve.

A few hours after Seokjin giving up his offering to Aphrodite, the boys all sit around the coffee table enjoying their takeout. Yoongi plays with Hoseoks elf ears and he can’t help but smile slightly. He loves his ears to death. Namjoon is still keeping his eyes on the book while his friends enjoy themselves, rambling and laughing at inside jokes. Even making some new ones too. Namjoon loved being with his friends, he always considered them a good distraction. One that he could use when he really didn't want to get too deep into the abyss of his thoughts. Although, he hasn't been able to properly pay attention to his friends nor simply take a break. Who could blame him really? The annual wizarding exam is so important to him and it's always been his dream to be a powerful wizard. Sadly, he’s always struggling to catch up to his classmates and can't seem to get the hang of perfecting spells. He felt that deep down inside he'd never be the wizard he always wanted to be.
