conner has been dubbed " the green canary " , but he actually finds the color mildly unappealing . because of this , he sometimes goes by " the black arrow " , but he most usually identifies himself as " quickdraw " . it truly depends on how he feels on a given day . still , green is the secondary / accent color in his costume .
at a young age , conner learned of his mother ' s musical history , namely her time spent as a member of the band ashes on sunday , and soon found a voice of his own . he is a talented singer and hopes to start a band of his own one day . he plans on naming it riots on saturday in order to keep with the theme .
conner is growing used to his powers and has been more invested in them than the whole " robin hood " gimmick his father has kept up . once he moved up from the dummy arrows , he gradually grew out of his focus on archery . he is still skilled at it , but nowhere near the level that his father is on and usually utilizes wrist and / or crossbows rather than a bow and arrow .
conner has a deep fear of letting his parents down , which he fears that he may have already done , being gay and all . he uses it as motivation to push himself and work hard , but it also takes a mental and emotional toll on him .
conner is conflicted on his alignment . one side of him tells him to just be a hero like his parents , but the other knows that being a hero isn ' t what he really wants to do , at least for the time being . occasionally , and this is a well — kept secret , he does commit crime . usually theft or vandalism , as he would never intentionally harm , nevertheless kill , an innocent civilian . he knows his mistakes will catch up to him one day , but right now , he ' s just focused on having fun .
conner not only inherited his mother ' s abilities , but her aesthetic as well . fitted leather , cropped jackets , biker gloves , you know the deal . he knows how to ride a motorcycle and is currently saving up to buy one of his own . his everyday outfits are a bit more subtle , but still sleek and stylish .
conner is close with zatanna zatara and is one of her biggest fans , attending her magic shows whenever he can .
conner is known and protected by some of the justice league , as they raised him for a short periodically time .
