Another Day At Jade Mountain

Mixed Emotions

Turtle sat there, staring at the lake as it gave off a reflection on the cave ceiling, little fishes danced and played, they were probably much happier than him right now.

" Hey you alright?" Said anemone, slowly wiggling over, and sitting next to her brother.

" No..." He sniffed, rubbing his little growing tears.

" Welll... What's wrong?" .Anemone said, nudging him.

" It's weird.." Turtle mumbled.

Kinkajou skipped along, rambling on and on to Winter.

"Do you ever stop talking?.." Winter groaned, it seemed the more and more she talked, the farther the cave got.

" Oh! Sorry! Am i talking to much?!" She squeaked

"Oh no, you're as quiet as a mouse, OF COURSE YOU'RE TALKING TO MUCH!" Winter huffed.

"Aww! I'm sorry!" Kinkajou squeaked.

Winter rolled his eyes, turning the corner into the cave, and slouching into his bed.

Kinkajou skipped inside after him, going to her hammock.

"A little help?" She asked, tryingnto pull herself up.

"Can't you get it?" He grumbled.

"Mm.. No i don't think i can." Kinkajou said, kicking around, as her hammock swung around.

Winter got up, dragging himself over, and getting onto his back legs, trying to shove her in.

"Cmon! You've gotta cooperate!" He said, grunting.

"I'm trying!" She squeaked.

In an instance, Kinkajou had gotten into the hammock, buttt.. the hammock ending up swinging fully around, sending Kinkajou straight onto winter, toppling them both down.

Winter blinked, staring up at her, as she stared right back at him.

''Woah winter, making some moves I see?" Qibli commented as him and Moon walked in.

"Oh shut up." Winter snapped, shoving Kinkajou off, and getting up.

Kinkajou blinked, just standing there, stunned.

"Looks like she likes you." Qibli teased, nudging Winter.

''Be quiet." He grumbled, going back to his bed.

''Party pooper." Qibli retorted, and helped Kinkajou back into her hammock.

Moon slithered off to her bed, as Qibli followed, plopping down into his, as it was next to hers.

"What do you think that was about?" Moon asked, nudging Qibli.

"Dunno, but i'm tired soooo.. Night!" He said, laying down.

She shrugged, and decided to go to sleep aswell.

Kinkajou sat there in her hammock, curled up, peeking over at Winter.

He's Asleep.. She thought.

She slowly crawled out of the hammock, and snuck over to Winter, sitting down and slowly laying down next to him.

Winter blinked, looking down at Kinkajou as she snoozed.

He slowly layed his head back down, deciding to leave his frei- No, her, just her, nothing more.

Turtle slithered along in the halls, looking around, making sure nobody was still awake, he'd get in alot of trouble if he was caught after curfew.

Cmon turtle.. You're almost to the cave.. He thought, starting to speed walk.

He blinked, hearing a slight Scraatttccchh... On the stone floors.

Turtle panicked, looking around with his night vision, until he saw two shiny little eyes staring at him

He bolted off, skidding into the cave, and stopping, to stare at Kinkajou laying next to Winter, as they both curled up together.

In an instant, Turtle felt his fragile heart break.
