5 Years Apart

The Dinner

While me and my mom are chilling in the hotel I get a message. I realized that it was ex-bf, I thought it was just streaks but he was trying to get with me again. I just left him on read, he was just going to use me again. 

*COLBY POV*

Colby: hey sam, can we talk?

Sam: Yeah, what's up bro

Colby: Am I being too obvious?

Sam: what, no

Colby: it's just I don't want to mess it up, you know. I haven't found someone that makes me feel really happy other than friends and family.

Sam: Sooo someone has a crush?!

Colby: well yeah why else would we go to dinner with them?

Sam: true, you want to go to the store so we can get flowers or something? you can get flowers for y/n and I can get them for her mom. Then you can still hint at it without being obvious.

Colby: Ummm if you think it's a good idea then why not.

Sam: then let's go! Then it also lets me get something for Kat for Christmas.

They leave for the store as y/n went outside to take a breather.

*Y/N POV*

My ex-bf was getting on my nerves so I left my phone inside and went outside. I see Sam and Colby come out, I try to ignore cuz I didn't want them to see me mad. Sam ended up talking to me and Colby was being shy and awkward for some reason.

Sam: Hey y/n! I didn't realize that you guys came back.

y/n: umm yeah...

Sam: you ok?

y/n: is nothing.

I get up and go on a walk to clear my head.

*COLBY POV*

Colbys thinks: I hope she's ok, it didn't seem like it.

Sam: We should make sure her mom know she went on a walk

Sam goes to the door to tell her mom as Colby is looking out where she went.

Sam: hey umm I don't know if you know but y/n went on a walk

y/n mom: yeah I know her ex-bf was getting on her nerves. he is trying to get with her again but he is just going to use her again.

Sam: oh ok,  we were just making sure u knew she is on a walk.

y/n mom: well thank you and is Colby ok?

Sam: he just wants to make sure she's ok, he likes y/n. (Sam says quietly) Well me and Colby have to go so see u guys later tonight. 

y/n mom: ok seen u guys later.

*Y/N POV*

y/n: I hope they don't think I'm rude. But I should go back so I don't get lost.

I go back and decide to get ready for dinner. I wear a really cute dress.

There's a knock on the door and my mom gets it cuz I'm still finishing my makeup. Before I got out of the bathroom I made sure my dress was down so no one saw anything I didn't want them to see. I walk out to see Colby with flowers and my mom with flowers. Colby stood there for a second looking at me then he came up to me and smiled.

Colby: here these are for you. You look beautiful y/n

y/n: aww thank you Colby.

I hug Colby and over his shoulder I see my mom wink, I mouthed I know with a smile my mom hasn't seen in years and my mom smiled back.

y/n: So where are we going to go?

Sam and Colby: its a surprise!

y/n: fun!

We get into Colby's car, Sam and my mom are in the front seat and me and Colby are in the back seat. My dress went up without me noticing, Colby looks down at it and sees the cuts on my legs so he pulls down my dress and holds my hand and mouthed talk to me after dinner. I start to get scared but almost immediately calm down.

Colby thinks: Omg... she cuts... I will do anything to help her. I will talk to her after dinner.

I notice we are in the mountains now and I look at my mom and she doesn't look worried so she knows where we are going so I'm not that worried. When we get there I see in the dissidents a little cute picnic.

Me and Colby got done eating first so we went on a hike while we wait for Sam and my mom to be done eating. 

Colby: Hey y/n want to go on a hike?  

y/n: sure if it's fine by my mom 

y/n mom: yeah that's fine

y/n ok cool thank you! let's go!

Colby: see u in a bit guys!  

We walk for a little bit talking about everything and nothing at the same time.

Colby: so umm I wanted to talk to you about 2 things. 

y/n: ok go! 

Colby: first... are u ok, I saw what was on your leg. 

y/n: oh... umm I just deal with a lot in life and it feels like its the only way to feel anything anymore... 

Colby: look at me, I will help and no I won't tell anyone but u have to promise me you won't do that anymore.

y/n: ...

Colby: y/n, please 

y/n: ok fine I promise... but thank you Colby for caring. 

Colby: you're welcome. and now the second thing.

y/n: ok 

Colby: so I was wondering senes you are wanting to move to LA if you would want to live with me and the guys. Me and Sam already talked about with your mom and the guys so now it's just up to you. 

 y/n: ...
