Lorenzo's POV
We pulled up to the house in about an hour after finding a quicker way home. Gio was crying in pain at this point. I quickly carried him inside and into the doctor's part of the house.
The doctor and a couple of his assistants took Gio from me and rushed him to the back of the house and told me to wait whilst they examine him and that they would be right back.
"No! I just got him back. Let me see him!" I pleaded as I raced back to the back room to go in with him.
The doctor came back out and stopped me. "Lorenzo, I understand that you want him. It's been two months. But I need to make him feel better before you see him. He is not in good shape, son." He said before patting me on the arm and going back into the room.
I groaned and went to the living room to sit on the couch. I put my head in my hands and groaned. I needed him to be okay. Hearing his screams right now was not helping. It just made me tear up more.
I leaned back against the couch and shut my eyes before reopening them not even 10 seconds later when I heard my father and his men walk in.
"Son." Was a he said as everyone sat in the waiting room like living room.
It felt like hours had went buy. You could hear him scream and cry in agony. He kept screaming for me which didn't help anything.
I could hear the doctor yell for medicine which relaxed me and soon the house fell silent.
The doctor walked out the room and joined us in the living room.
"He's okay now. We gave him some medicine to make his pain go away and for him to get some sleep." He informed us, then proceeded to sit with us.
"Lorenzo, he's in bad shape. He's worse than last time. He's malnourish so much more. He weights what a 6 year old should. His injuries are brutal. More ribs were broken, he has a concussion, fractured jaw and eye socket. His bruises will take at least a month to go away. He has some internal bleeding too which I'll have to do surgery to stop but it's not severe enough for me to stop everything in there and come update you guys first." He explained before getting back up.
I nodded and let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. "So he's okay?" I questioned worriedly.
He gave a tight smile and nodded. "Yes, he will be. Now I'm going to prep him for surgery. It's going to be about 3 hours so I suggest you clean yourself up so when he wakes up he doesn't see you covered in his blood." He said before walking off.
I huffed once more and looked around at everyone to see them staring at me. "I'm fine guys." I replied before heading upstairs to one of my father guest bedrooms and preparing a shower.

It was hours later and Gio was okay but still out due to the medicine. I was sitting in a chair next to his bed, holding his hand.
He started to groan which caused me to jump back from my daydream and focus on him.
"Hey, baby" I whispered as he opened his eyes. "You're okay now." I told him as I stroke his hair away from his forehead.
"My head hurts, Lo." I nodded and kissed his forehead. "You have a concussion, that's normal babe." But I called for the doctor to come give him some medicine.
The doctor came and went after a few questions and explaining to him what happened.
"When can we go home?" He questioned, which caught me off guard. Home. He thought of it as our home.
"I'll take you home now but I'll have to have the doctor set you up at home since you just got out of surgery a few hours ago." He nodded and with that I left to talk to the doctor.

Gio's POV
They got me set up at home and it honestly felt a lot better to be here. The medicine also made me feel better so I was grateful for that too.
Lorenzo and I were currently laying in bed with him holding from behind. It felt nice.
"I missed you so much." He whispered. "I tried so hard to find you, I want you to know that. It was hard since you were out of the provenance. I tried baby." He said with a shaky tone.
"I missed this so much. It was so hard to sleep at night without you here in my arms. I couldn't imagine how you felt baby boy." He spoke again but this time I felt tears hit the back of my neck.
"I'm okay now, that's all that matters now." I whispered whilst grabbing his hand and giving it a small kiss.
"I love you Gio, I don't want you to ever forget that." He said placing a kiss on the back of my head before throwing the blankets over us. "Now let's get some sleep. We have all the time in the world tomorrow to talk."
"I love you too my Lo." I whispered once more.
"My Gio." He whispered back and with that the night turned cold and we fell asleep with love and warmth clouding our hearts as we both held in the deepest fear of being rip away from each others grasps again.
