"Sorry, we're closed," I called as I heard the front door of the club open.
"I know, that's why I'm here," Jimmy smiled.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Actually, I came to talk to your manager. Is he around?"
"Yeah, I'll go get him for you," I smiled.
"For the record," Jimmy smiled, "Chris hasn't shut up about you since you came to the warehouse the other day, and he would kill me for telling you that."
"For the record," I smirked, "being around Chris makes me feel the most me than I have felt in years, and I will kill you if you tell him that."
I left Jimmy at the bar to go get Brian from his office. I knocked but walked right in anyway, to find Stas and Brian making out at his desk.
"Jimmy Donaldson is here to see you," I smirked.
"You can send him in," Brian adjusted his shirt and ran his hand through his hair.
"Do you need a few minutes?" I asked.
"Three minutes, please."
I nodded before turning to leave Brian's office. I'm not surprised about what I walked into, not even a little bit, but I'm still surprised that he's so into Stas. She's been chasing after him for months and he had always blown him off.
"I'll bring you back to his office in a minute," I smiled at Jimmy, "what are you here to talk to him about?"
"Nothing," Jimmy smiled.
"Mhmm," I rolled my eyes, "you've always got tricks up your sleeve."
"Sure do," Jimmy smiled, "that's how I got so successful."
"Fair enough. The ones who make the most success are the ones who treat life like a chess game, thinking three moves ahead," I smiled.
"Who said that?" Jimmy asked.
"My dad," I smiled.
I led Jimmy back to Brian's office and knocked on the door, waiting for a 'come in' before I opened the door. I left the two of them to talk about whatever Jimmy is here for and I returned to the bar. Stas and I got to work setting up the bar, not having a conversation about what I walked into.
"Can I tell you something before I head out?" Jimmy asked.
"Sure," I smiled.
"Don't hesitate to go for it," Jimmy smiled.
"To go for what?" I asked.
"It'll make sense when you need it to," Jimmy winked at me, "I'll see you later Nat, have a good night."
"You too."
Okay Mr. Cryptic. Stas and I finished setting up the bar and did our thing once we opened. It was a standard Friday night, nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary. We had just done last call and the club was thinning out. Honestly, 2:30 couldn't have come fast enough tonight.
"Hey," Chris smiled as he walked up to the bar.
"Hey," I smiled, "you know we're closing right?"
"I know," Chris laughed, "I came to ask if you wanted to hang out tonight."
"Tonight?" I asked.
"Yeah, either at your house or mine. I have a surprise for you," Chris smiled.
"A surprise? Well I don't think I can turn that down even if I wanted to," I smiled.
"Good, I'll go wait for you by your car."
