--DREW'S POINT OF VIEW--
My mind was in a daze as I could faintly hear the sound of a voice echoing. Suddenly I felt a shake on my right shoulder and I was sprung from my trance. "Drew Harper!" A loud booming voice spoke to me when I looked up. Every eye was on me at that moment and I realized I was at graduation. I got up quickly and grabbed my diploma from Mr. Mason our school principal. "Ha, sorry day dream." I said with a snicker and a look into his blue eyes. He just nodded and winked giving my a hand shake handing me my diploma."Good Luck." He Whispered. I gave a widening smile showing off my white teeth and walked off the stage back to my seat next to my best friend Harley.
Harley had been my best friend since we were 5 and ever since then we have been inseparable, and recently our friendship reached it's greatest obstacle. COLLEGE! We had applied to so many schools all over the country and even in Europe making sure we would be at the same school and get out of this shit of a town. Luckily we both applied and got excepted into the University of London, so we agreed we would both save money and move there in the beginning of the summer to by a home and get ready for this school year in the fall. We had our lives all planned out just waiting to leave!
" Now I John Mason, Principal of Center Grove High School proudly present to you the graduating Class of 2012!"
Just as he said those glorious words I threw my hideous bright red cap high into the Indiana sky celebrating I was now a graduate along with the other 100 students. I couldn't wait to get away and get ready for my first plane ride ever and not just any flight I was going to Paris.
After the (celebration) Harley and I went back to my house to get ready for the real party! We changed into if you could say (party clothes). I changed into my favorite worn out jean shorts and a camisole with a flannel shirt over top. I finished the look off with my 2 year old worn down cowboy boots and let my long brown wavy hair hang loose. I looked at Harley and saw the image I was always jealous of. Her long auburn hair hung straight just past her rip cage and was wearing her famous booty shorts showing off her long legs compared to mine and she was wearing almost and identical shirt as me.
We arrived and the party. I saw everyone there from the people I liked to the people , to the people I hated and to the people I have literally never said one word to in my entire life.
"Hey whats up LADIES!" One of the ass holes from the football team said grabbing my butt. (Classy)
The music was amazing and everyone was out there (dancing)...The beat of the music made me move my hips in ways I didn't know I could move and all I knew was every eye was on me. Guys were staring and girls were glaring in a jealous way. SORRY I couldn't help it, I like to dance.
Just as the party started to get fun. Just as the party was getting fun for me; his eyes met mine. His evil eyes glared at me and he smirked that smile he always does. I gulped knowing something was about to happen. I hurried and grabbed my stuff and told Harley I would see her back at home.
I started walking down the gravel driveway and I could hear his heavy footsteps getting closer to me. My heart was beginning to drop; he was coming, he was coming for me.
" Hey Drew! BEAUTIFUL,Come back, I want to talk to you." He yelled to me and right then I knew he was shit faced.
I hurried my speed but just as I did I heard him right behind me and in that second of panic he grabbed my hair and pulled me back. His tight grip was around my locks of long hair and only pulling tighter. I was pulled right underneath his mouth and I could smell the whiskey and beer on his breath.
" Bitch! I told you to come back." He said gritting his teeth.
Tears starting going down my hot cheeks " Please Marcus don't, don't hurt me."
I was squirming all around but he only pulled tighter the more I moved. His breathing was shallow and shaky from all the booze.
" I ain't gonna hurt you, I just wanna know why you don't love no more." He said with his accent
He turned me around to face him but being so short I could only look at his chest. His fingers slid across my cheeks and down my neck all the way on my chest. The tears were coming. I jerked quickly and spit in his face but before I could get away he had a tight grip on my left wrist pulling me back just so he could smack me across the face just like he used too.
I fell to his feet in a Heep. He kicked me in the stomach and kicked a big woad of dirt in my face along with spitting on me if I was nothing. He left me in the dark on the gravel alone to live or to die.
I don't know how it happened but I woke up in my bed just in time for Harley to be jumping on my bed yelling " GET UP!!"
Finally this was the day I had been dreaming of, I was finally leaving this boring shitty town. We grabbed all our stuff we had packed in advance and proceeded to leave but before we did I walked out of the room and I soaked in the last few minutes I had in this room. Looking in the mirror I saw bruising on my face from where Marcus had hit me and my left wrist was purple and extremely bruised. My once bright pink colored lips were now cut and half bloody, and at that moment I let a tear escape and I walked out hoping to never come back.
" Flight 125 from Greenwood to Paris now boarding. "
I took a breathe and hugged my mother tightly and told her I would wright her when I could. Her tears just made me feel bad about the whole thing but I had to go. I hugged her one last time and kissed her on the cheek, and walking away I waved one last time until going through security, and then like that she was gone out of my life as if she was Greenwood,Indiana.
