Teagan
Filled with frustration and disappointment, I found myself taking a seat beside Zion. I knew he didn't mind. After all, he was Zion Reed, who didn't care about anything or anyone who came near him. He didn't even care that he had become famous. It was as if he lived in his own world, where the only thing that existed was him alone.
But why was I thinking about this guy? I still have a problem to fix right now.
I washed my face with my bare hands, trying to rid myself of all the frustrations written on my face. I usually looked up at the sky to calm myself down in times like this. I gazed at the sky, obscured by the leaves of the trees. I could see bits of it but mostly leaves. The leaves danced as the wind cradled them. The sun's rays wanted to touch my skin, but the leaves were blocking them, looking like Christmas lights blinking on and off in broad daylight.
"You can sleep in my room," interrupted a cold, deep-toned voice.
I looked at Zion, who was also looking at the sky, even though countless leaves blocked it. I couldn't quite grasp what he had said until I was surprised by his offer. Strange thoughts started popping into my head as I imagined sleeping with him. I rapidly shook my head to rid myself of those thoughts.
"No, it's okay. You don't have to," I replied, looking at the sky again to hide my embarrassment. This guy sure liked to make me blush. It was so annoying!
"Do you want to sleep outside on cold, damp soil, filled with crawlers and insects, or worse, deadly and vicious animals? Or, in different circumstances, ghosts?" Zion asked, giving me the creeps. Listing those things made me realize that sleeping in the open was indeed a bad idea.
"Okay, okay. Just stop mentioning those things. It gives me the creeps," I replied.
"Just think about it as a payment for letting me sleep in your apartment," he added. I thought he was through with it already. I thought the breakfast was the payment.
"I get it. I'll just tell Sullie about it. If she agrees, then I'll sleep with you. Not literally with you. Of course, we'll be sleeping in the same room, so it's technically sleeping together. But what I meant is sleeping together but not literally together. Do you get me?" I asked, trying to explain what I wanted him to understand, but it didn't go well. "God! That sounds wrong," I whispered to myself as I stood up.
I went to Sullie, trying to hide my flushed face from Zion. I couldn't let him know that he did this to me. When I reached the entrance of Sullie's tent, I asked her if I could come in. When she gave her permission, I went inside and took a seat. I waited for Sullie to finish her work, and she looked at me when she did.
"You good?" Sullie asked, referring to my problem. I shook my head.
"All of them are already full," I replied. I noticed Sullie's worried face.
"What are you going to do now? The rooms here are expensive. Where are you going to sleep?" she worriedly asked. Before I could respond, I gathered a lot of courage and bravery. Okay, Teagan. Here we go!
"Zion offered me his room," I said in my very normal voice.
"Wait, what?!" asked Sullie, looking confused and surprised.
"I said, Zion offered me his room. He said that he could share his room with me," I reiterated. Sullie's eyes instantly widened as she heard my statement. She covered her mouth with her hands while letting out a low screech. She was overreacting again.
"Did he really offer his room to you?" she confirmed, and I nodded. "With his own mouth?" she added, and I nodded again.
Sullie was now acting strange. She looked like some kind of demon possessed her. In short, she was fluttering. Suddenly, she reverted to her usual self, acting like nothing happened. She gathered back her composure and looked at me.
