So. I update. Finally. 🙃 Yes, ima piece of trash for making y'all wait this long, but here. Now that I've done this chapter, I'll rest easy knowing my readers aren't mad af at me. Update will be expected in two days, most likely less.

Two children sat all alone under a bridge, cold filling their senses. They were runaways, having fled from their home because their parents didn't accept them. The reason behind this was their... peculiarities, to say the least. They were both hybrids. Their long tails were in coils under them, glistening in the firelight, which was gradually fading.  But one figure, a boy, reached out and nudged a log with his foot, sending them cascading upon the small flame, causing it to blow out for a quick moment before roaring back to life, feeding off of the wood. The boy huffed, his breath fogging out in front of him, and turned to his sister, who was asleep, her head resting on his shoulder. He let her rest, for he knew she had lacked sleep ever since he hurt his arm. He had been shot in his upper right arm, but luckily, both of them were educated in how to treat a wound, and it was slowly healing. It hurt, yeah, but with for his sister overtook the pain 100%. Victor fully intended on staying awake and watching over his sister, but somehow, his eyes drifted closed and his breathing softened. Later on he would curse himself for making this mistake.
