Amelia's pov:
3 hours. I have been sitting here, in front of my new apartment building for 3 hours in the freezing cold of London. My best friend, Lex, decided that he was going to move to London and I was looking for somewhere to make a new start. So I decided to go with him. He came over here 3 weeks before me to set up the apartment that we are meant to be sharing. I flew over from Washington D.C. at 3:00 in the morning and landed in London at 11:00 Washington time. Luckily it was only 4:00 in London when I landed. One thing I am most scared of is walking around outside in the dark. But now I have to sit out here in the dark, outside an apartment building whilst I wait for lex to come down from our apartment. I messaged him as soon as I pulled up and got out of the taxi saying that I had arrived and he messaged back saying he was coming down in 5 minutes. 5 minutes my ass! I sigh as I check the battery percentage on my phone 6%. Crap. I quickly put my phone on airplane mode and lower my brightness . I can not live without my phone. I immediately start hearing voices from upstairs. Could that be lex? No, lex swears a lot more than that. Suddenly it went quiet and I could hear footsteps coming down a set of stairs. Suddenly the doors opened and a guy with blue eyes and jet black hair was standing in front of me with his hand out...
Phils pov:
"She is not coming in here!" Dan yelled once I told him my idea. I went out earlier to the shops to get some more food and there was a girl who looked around the same age as us, if not a bit younger, sitting out in the freezing cold weather all by herself. I couldn't help but feel for her because she only had a light jumper on in the middle of autumn. I had been watching her, in a non creepy way, to see if she was leaving but when she never did, I started to worry for her. It's unsafe to be alone in London, nonetheless alone in London at night. "But she is alone in the freezing cold of London at 7:30 at night! Just think if you where in that situation." I said back to him. I probably won't win this argument but sure will try. "No! I...just...ugh! Fine! One night! Then she is out!" He said finally giving in. "thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!" I said as I pounded down the stairs. "Yeah, yeah, yeah whatever!" Dan replied with a smirk. I opened the main door and stepped outside to where she was sitting. "Hi. Im phil" I said holding out my hand. "Amelia" she replied shaking my hand. Her hands where so cold and so small. It was adorable. "I hope you don't mind me asking but why are you out here?" I asked as I sat down next to her. "I just arrived in London this afternoon and my best friend, lex, just moved in here and he was meant to come down and let me in but I have been sitting here for about 4 hours in the fricken cold and soon I'm going to kill someone and skin them just to keep warm." she replied with a little grin. "Are you sure you have the right address? London is a very confusing place, and it's easy to get confused" I replied as I looked up to see that dans bedroom light was off. why would he turn it off? "No. I know it's this one, see its right here in my phone...ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!" She yelled in frustration. "What happened?" I said as she got up looking extremely flustered. "My phone just went flat and that is the only way I can get in contact with anybody!" She yelled as she started freaking out. "Hey, hey, hey. it's okay. If you want you can come up to my apartment, stay the night and charge your phone and I will help you find this friend of yours tomorrow." I said as I went to comfort her. "Are you going to hurt me? Or rape me or anything?" She asked as she stepped back a little bit "no. no i realise now how weird it sound, me inviting you to my apartment but it's your choice." I said as I stepped back myself. "Eh. what the heck, it's better than sitting out here" she replied with a smile. "Cool. let me take up your things. Speaking of which. Where are your belongings?" I asked looking around. "Right here" she said as she walked straight past me to a backpack on the ground. "Is that all you brought?" I asked amazed at how litre she brought. Then again, she could just be coming from downtown. "I'm a light packer?" She added with a giggle. "Okay. Come on. I'll take you upstairs." I said as I opened the main door for her. "So where are you from?" I asked as we walked up the stairs. "Born in Massachusetts, raised in New York." I looked back at her in surprise. "you don't look like much of a city girl." "didnt your mother ever tell you not to judge a book by its cover" she replied with a wink. i smiled as I opened the door to my apartment "this is it. Oh and by the way, I share it with my best friend Dan. He is a bit...testy...so to take it personally if he is a bit cruel." I warned as we walked in. "I HOPE YOU KNOW THAT I CAN HEAR YOU!" Dan yelled from what sounded like the kitchen. I looked at Amelia and started laughing. Just as I finished and showed her where she can put her things dan walked in. "Here. It's hot coca. Enjoy" he said handing her a drink. "Strange." I whispered. Dan shot me a look as he sat down on the couch next to her. "Your not usually this nice..." I whispered to him before walking to the kitchen.
