recently, when kairi brought it up, the boys would all laugh at how painfully obvious him and mattia were. even if they thought they were keeping it secret.

"what, you're gonna leave the group again?"
"no, you know what? let's talk about your business."
"go ahead! talk about it!"
kairi vaguely heard mattia and alvaro arguing but sleep was pulling at his consciousness considerably and beef between those two was nothing new. they fought over everything, jokes, girls, clothes, games, and, honestly, the list went further than kairi cared to imagine.
but it wasn't until he heard things start to get physical that he ran downstairs to see what the fuck was going on.
kairi heard a loud crash and roshaun pleading with everyone to calm down. he felt a rush of panic run through his system as he jumped off alvaro's bed and willed his legs to go faster down the steps, the possibility of him tripping and falling not even a thought in his mind.
when he made it to the dining room, it took him a second to take everything in. alejandro was stood back in shock as roshaun begged them to just stop and tried to hold alvaro back, but it wasn't doing much because nobody was holding mattia back. the next thing kairi noticed felt like a total punch to the gut. there, propped up on a wooden bowl of fake fruit, was roshaun's red phone with that big, ugly, hot pink live icon and a long number that kairi couldn't make out from his spot at the doorway. he took a deep breath and did his best to walk around the two and get to the fucking phone. but, of course, alvaro took a big step back and slammed kairi against the wall.
"so now you're bringing kai into this?" mattia lunged at alvaro again, but roshaun had managed to keep at least a little bit of distance between the two.
kairi pushed alvaro off him as quickly and politely as he could and tried to regain his footing. the phones intense brightness seemed to be mocking kairi. he just needed to get a few feet closer to turn the fucking thing off. time seemed to slow down, kairi felt like he was wading through waist deep water and the device broadcasting the incident to the world seemed to get further and further away.
when he finally did get to it, alejandro seemed to have snapped out of his daze and tugged on mattia and yelling at him to calm down, which seemed to have the opposite effect on the entire room.
it was sensory overload, alvaro and mattia lobbing insults at each other and swinging while roshaun and alejandro were jerking them away from each other as best they could. the whole thing was dizzying, kairi didn't know where to even focus his attention.
kairi felt entirely overwhelmed and desperately wanted to cry. he didn't know what to do or how to help, and now his back kind of hurt from when he got pushed.
something must've caught mattia's attention because he finally ripped his arms out of alejandros grip, shooting a dirty look and making a sound resembled a growl at alvaro.
it took kairi aback, definitely. he'd never seen mattia act like that before. he'd always been this gentle giant that would hug and kiss kairi through every scary thing he could ever encounter. sure, kairi knew he was capable of being big and scary like that, but he never actually thought he'd see him turn into that monster thing he'd just become. he felt actual fear clouding his mind and preventing him from chasing after him when mattia marched passed him and up the stairs.
"fuck this. I'm so over all this shit all the fucking time. where's my fucking shoes?" alvaro spun himself in circle, clearly too angry to even function as he grabbed his shoes and headed to the front door, slamming it on his way out.
