Chapter Three

It was Shade and Kairi, the Childhood Best Friends.

I know that they were childhood best friends since I got here because Mike told me. I'm still shocked of what happened. Why is he here? Kailan pa niya nagustuhan ang pag aarte? I know people can change but the Sage I knew back then hates this kind of thing. Well, He is not Sage. I brushed off my thoughts.

"Okay lang yun! At least nakapunta kayo." Inakbayan ni Mike si Shade at si Kairi naman ay umupo sa tabi namin ni Reyn.

"Alam ko ang mga nasa isip niyo. Anong ginagawa ko dito, am I right? Hinila ako dito ni Shade at alam niyo naman na hindi ako makakahindi sa lalaking yon." Reyn chuckled and she rolled her eyes.

"Guys! Let's welcome Shade and Kairi, the new members of our club." We gave them a round of applause, of course.

Kinulbit ako ni Reyn and he whispered if I'm okay. I just nodded. I choose this club because I thought he wouldn't choose this one but I'm wrong. He was glancing at my direction but I avoided his glance. I couldn't bear staring at his eyes for a second. I might have gone out of the auditorium but I choose not to for now. This is not good at all. What is mike thinking? Recruiting him here and giving him a main role.

Mike told Shade and Kairi all of the roles of our club members. I was looking at my shoes because I don't know what will happen. I sighed and thought of being a professional.

"Jaden, pwede ka naman humindi kay Mike." Napatignin ako kay Reyn and I shook my head.

"I can do this." I tried to smile for him.

"Sure ka?" I nodded.

"CR muna ako." He just nodded.

I went to the comfort room and washed my face with cold water. I looked at the mirror at nakita ko si Mike na naka sandal sa pader tapat ng comfort room. I took some tissues and wiped my face.

"What are planning to do?"

"Alam mo na di mo siya maiiwasan." He said in a serious tone. I looked down.

"I know that pero bat siya pa kapartner ko sa play? You know what will happen to me if we fall in love again"

"Hindi ako ang pumili." I looked at him. I'm confused. "Ang club adviser natin ang pumili."

"Pero sabi mo ikaw ang pumili."

"Some of it pero ang pumili talaga ng main roles ay ang club adviser natin." I just sighed because I can't change our club adviser's decisions.

"Edi mawala na lang siya." I looked at him angrily. What is he thinking? I can't let anyone kill Shade.

"The hell are you thinking, Mike? You know I can't let that happen."

"Pero manghihina ka ulit! I don't want to see you like that again, Michelle Jaden. You are so fragile that time. Hindi ka nga namamatay pero nararamdaman mo naman ang sakit ng pagiging mortal." My tears are flowing. I was about to leave him but he pulled me.

"Ayokong makita kang sobrang hina na para kang mortal. Tinuring na kitang kapatid, Jaden." I released myself from him and ran.

I just can't take it.

"S-sorry." I said to the person I bumped into.

"You bumped into me twice today." It made me look at the person and it was Shade.

"I said sorry twice too." He raised his eyebrow. I wiped my tears away. I saw that he was holding a two Calamansi juice. Is the other one for Kairi?

"I'm going inside." I slightly opened the door of the auditorium but he stopped me.

"Wait." I looked him.

"Hmm?"

"Catch." He threw the other Calamansi juice and I was able to catch it. I looked at the bottle. Why would he give this to me.

"Pero sayo to diba?" I raised my eyebrow.

"You can have it."

He doesn't give food or drinks if he is not close with that person but why would he give me this? I brushed my thoughts away.

"Thanks." I smiled and he just went inside the auditorium and I followed. I sat beside Reyn.

"Bakit ang tagal mo?" Tanong nilang parehas ni Kairi.

"Mike and I talked about the play." I smiled so that they won't notice that I cried.

"Bakit may Calamansi juice ka na naman?"

I looked at the bottle that I was holding but I didn't answer his question. I heard the door of the auditorium opened and saw Mike holding some papers. He gave it to us. It was our script for the play.

Mike was looking at me from afar and I just smiled at him. I tried to understand that he is just worried about me but I know I can handle it. He smiled at me and it made me feel better. I treated him as an acquaintance but he treated me as his sister. He clapped and it made the others look at him.

"Shall we start by practicing the lines?"
