Chapter Six

I take it back. Being with the two of them is really awkward. They are just silent and I can't talk to them since I don't know what to say to them. I sighed and brushed my thoughts away. We've reached at our school's field and it is still awkward.

"Nandito na tayo. I'll go home and sleep again. Ingat ka, Jaden." I nodded and smiled at Reyn.

"Bro, ingatan mo yan si Jaden." Reyn said in a serious tone which is very scary.

"No prob." Shade said and Reyn left us. I just smiled.

"Shall we go?" I just nodded and we went to the other members. There are three of them but one of them is injured.

"Hi. I'm Mi-"

"Mitchelle Jaden, we know your name. The name is Bailey." He smiled and smiled back.

"Yep yep! You are so galing nga in acting last time na nagka event ang theater." The girl in a ponytail said. "I forgot! I'm Hailey nga pala." She smiled cutely.

Hailey and Bailey? Are they twins?

"Yeah, they are twins." The girl with an injured leg said. "My name is Pria." I just nodded. I don't know why but I feel something weird.

She bade us farewell and left us at the bleachers. I saw a familiar figure coming towards us. I was surprised that Mike is here. Pumunta ako sa tabi niya.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Di mo ba natatandaan na parte ako ng student council dito?" Nakalimutan ko nga na parte nga pala siya nun. Bumaba siya ng tignin at tinali ang tali ng sapatos ko. "Baka matalisod ka mamaya." I rolled my eyes and smiled. I patted his head while he was tying my shoelaces and I heard him chuckled of what I did.

After Mike tied my shoelaces, I joined Shade and the others at the field. We did a lot of stretching. I was the second one to run. I waited Shade to run towards me. While I was waiting, I saw him running in slow motion. Why does he look so handsome? I shook my head and brushed my thoughts away. He passed me the metal stick to me. I ran as fast as I could and passed it to Bailey. I was panting which is weird because I never pant. Maybe I'm just exhausted because I wasn't able to sleep comfortably.

"That was not fast like before." Shade looked at his timer and scratched his head.

"Sis? Mitch?" I looked at Bailey. "Mag race kayo para malaman natin kung sino mas mabilis sa inyong dalawa." I nodded.

"Sige. Why not diba? Let's go and mag race, Mitch." She smiled and I smiled back as I response that I'm in.

"Wait, I'll just tie my hair up." I said. I took the red scrunchie around my wrist and tied my hair up in a bun.

I saw Shade looking at me and he avoided my eyes. I just shrug it off. Hailey and I went at the end of the field. Shade raised the pellet gun. As we heard the gun shot, We ran as fast as we could. Ako ang naunang natapos sa aming dalawa ni Hailey pero natapilok ako dahil sa isang bato. Napahawak ako sa ko pero hindi naman ito masakit. Napatakbo sila Hailey sa akin pati na rin si Mike. Tinulungan naman ako ni Mike na tumayo at pinaupo nila ako sa bleachers.

"I'm sorry, Mitch. Dapat hindi ko na sinuggest na magpaligsahan kayo ng kapatid ko." Bailey said.

"Okay lang, Bailey." I smiled. "You can continue your training with me."

They went back to their training and Mike sat beside me. He was looking at me and I just chuckled of what he is doing.

"I'm not in pain. Umarte lang ako para dahil nga natapilok ako. I'm fine, okay?" He nodded.

"Siguraduhin mo lang." I smiled and nodded. Hepatted my head and left me alone at the bleachers. I saw Shade heading towards me and sat beside me.

I saw that he was sweating. I reached for my bag and gave him a towel. He was surprised but he took it. It was silent. We didn't talk. I don't if I'm going to talk to him or what.

"Do you need water?" I asked and grab the water bottle beside me.

"Yeah, Thanks." He smiled and took the water bottle. He drank the water from the water bottle I gave to him. I looked at the sky because it was beautiful.

"Mitch?" I looked at him. "I will bring you home later. If it is okay with you."

"Sure." I smiled at him and he smiled back.

The day went well. I rested for a while but after that I joined the training again. Shade and I went to the convenience store to buy some chocolate drink. We stayed at the park and talked about a lot of things. I think we got closer.

Pagkatapos nun ay naglakad na kami papuntang bahay ko. Naramdaman ko na nanghina ako at nawala ako sa balanse kaya nahulog ako. Nagulat si Shade pati narin ako. Tinulungan niya ako na tumayo at pinagpagan ko naman ang damit ko.

"Did you get any scratches? What happened?" He said and I can see he is worried.

"Ayos lang ako." I smiled and didn't mind the pain that I am feeling at my knees.

"You sure?" I just nodded.

Hinatid niya na ko sa bahay and he bade me farewell. I went inside the house and I saw Reyn waiting for me at the living room. He went to me when he saw me.

"Kamusta? What happened to your training?" He smiled at me while asking me but his face changed when he saw some dirt at my jogging pants. Lumapit siya sa akin at pinagpagan niya ang jogging pants ko.

"Hoy! Why are you not talking?" Napaupo ako sa kinakatayuan ko.

"May nangyari ba?" I nodded. "Is it bad? Or good?"

"Both." I said.

"What?" I pulled my jogging pants up and he saw scratches on my knees.

"Jaden, anak, anong nangyari sayo?" Gulat na tanong ni Tita Ema nung nakita niya yung sugat sa tuhod ko.

Hinila niya ko at pinaupo sa couch. Kinuha ni Tita yung first aid kit at binigay kay Reyn. Nilagyan ni Reyn ng betadine at band aid ang aking sugat.

"Hindi ko inaakala na sobrang manghihina ako. Hindi siya katulad ng dati and I don't know why." I said.

"I'll be here to protect you." Reyn smiled and hugged me.

He let me go and we both ate dinner together with Tita Ema. After we ate, I went straight to my bed. I've never been this fragile before. This is weird. Reyn told me he will protect me but I won't depend on that. I need to face this by myself and I need to know if there are any solution.
