~Your POV~
I wake up in an unfamiliar room. I look around, confused. A girl with curly blonde hair, who I assume is around seventeen or eighteen. smiles and walks over to me.
"Hi! I'm Melanie!" she grins.
"(Y/n)..."
"How are you feeling?"
"Where am I?" I ask intead of answering.
"Camp Half-Blood," she states as if that should make any sense.
"What?"
"Don't worry! Chiron will explain everything!"
"What the fuck are you talking about?!" I demand.
"Hey! Watch your mouth," she jokes.
"Sure..."
"You should go find him if you're up for it. He's probably in The Big House. Can't miss it!"
"Okay,"
I get up and leave. I walk outside. There are people of all ages around.
What is this place? I think.
I look around for the place Melanie mentioned. She was right, you really couldn't miss it.
I jog over and knock on the door. A man in a wheelchair answers.
"Hi..." I say.
"Hello, I haven't seen you around before. What's your name?" he asks.
"(Y/n),"
"I'm Chiron,"
"Melanie told me to come find you. She said you'd explain what this place is, why I'm here... All that stuff..."
"Very well. Come in,"
I come inside and sit down. Chiron begins talking a whole bunch of nonsense about gods and monsters.
"Those aren't real..."
"Sure they are! And you are a demigod yourself!"
"That would mean one of my parents is a god, but they're both dead..."
"I'm sorry to hear that..." he says. "But one of them isn't."
"Yes, they both are."
"One of them is immortal. Your mother 'died' very early in your life, correct?"
"How'd you know that...?"
"She's not dead. She is a goddess."
"So she left me all alone?!" I suddenly become very angry. "I went through hell after my dad died! I lived with his demon of a girlfriend until I ran away when I was twelve! I was all alone for a whole year! And she didn't even bother to help me?!"
"I'm sure she wanted to... She had to fulfil her job as a goddess, she was busy,"
"Too busy for her own kid? She sounds horrible! She probably forgot I even exist..."
"On the contrary," he says. "Nyx, the goddess of the night, claimed you the day you got here, and that doesn't happen just everyday! She saw something special in you!"
I almost laugh. There's nothing special about me.
"Yeah right..."
"It's true. I can't remember a time someone was claimed that quickly!"
I don't say anything.
"Why don't you go find your cabin? Maybe some of your brothers or sisters will be there,"
"Okay," and with that I walk out.
I realise he never told me the cabin number. I guess I'll have to ask someone.
I go up to the first person I see, a boy.
"Hey," I say to get his attention.
He has dark hair and eyes, one of the boys who was there in the alley...
"Yeah?" he asks.
"Um..." I lose my train of thought and feel like a total idiot, but that's nothing new, really. "Uh, where's the Nyx cabin?"
"Uh, over here," he walks toward a dark painted cabin and I follow. He stops at the stairs.
"Thanks," I say as I turn to face him, but where he stood is empty of all but the shadow of my new cabin. I look around but he is nowhere to be seen. I sigh and knock on the door.
A girl with bright red hair answers. She seems near my age, maybe a little older.
"Hi!" she greets.
"Hey, Chiron told me this is where I'm supposed to stay..." I reply awkwardly.
"You're the girl who was claimed on the first day?"
I nod.
"Cool!" she opens the door, inviting me in. "I'm Emily,"
"(Y/n),"
She nods. "You can have basically any bed. There aren't too many of us here. Most of the bed that are made are available,"
"Okay,"
"Everyone else is probably at dinner, we should get going too,"
"Yeah,"
"You can sit with me and my friends if you want,"
"Okay, cool. Thanks,"
"No problem,"
I walk with Emily to her table. Her friends are already there. I recognize two, who are appearantly named Nico di Angelo and Percy Jackson. She introduced the rest of them as Annabeth Chase, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, Jason Grace and Will Solace.
I don't talk too much to them. From what I've heard, demigods dying isn't rare... I'm not risking that.
Leo and Emily are the only ones who really made an effort to talk to me. Nico did too a little, but he didn't say much in general.
It almost feels kinda good to be accepted. They're all actually nice to me... I'm not totally used to that...
On the other hand, I can't get close to them or let any of them get close to me. Someone will get hurt. That's how everything's bound to end up. All good things must come to an end. I'm not going through what happened with my dad all over again. I made a vow.
