If you can't tell, I'm obsessed with the night time. So here's another fanfic taking place at an ungodly hour!

It took me ages to write this because of school and no inspiration, so I hope you enjoy!

Stay healthy, take care of yourself, and take care of others! We got this. <3

_______________

It was 2 am.

Many things happened at 2 am.

John often found himself up at this time of the night, editing or doing other shit he probably should wait until the morning to do.

He didn't mind much though.

This time of day always felt as if it existed on another plane of the universe. No one expected anything from you. You could simply breathe, and frankly, he enjoyed the alone time he got.

As long as he was busy, it was fine.

He glanced over at the couch, seeing his small friend passed out under a couple layers of blankets.

A smile grazed his lips.

Jaren was visiting him and he genuinely hadn't ever had so much fun with someone staying in his house.

He was a bit of an introvert, so usually people staying over drained him completely.

He had always been pretty private too. Even when he was little he liked to hide his possessions in peculiar crevices around his room, and keep those locked diaries that were only ever made for girls.

So people messing with his belongings and routines, even if he loved them with all his heart, often secretly bothered him.

But admittedly he hadn't ever enjoyed sharing a space with someone quite so much.

His gaze hovered for a while, watching the brunettes chest rise and fall in a sleepy rhythm. He looked so peaceful.

How the power of the internet had brought him someone with such a similar soul, he wasn't sure, but he was grateful none the less.

John dreaded the day he went back to Canada. He wasn't even sure why.

It's not like they would never see each other again. In fact they saw each other pretty frequently for how far away they lived from one another.

He sighed.

Maybe a snack would help. After all, he had been staring at the computer screen for a couple hours at this point, his eyes fuzzy and practically begging for a break.

The blonde crept his way to the kitchen, joints creaking with each step. He shook his head with a low laugh. How his legs even still worked, he wondered sometimes.

His eyes scanned the room, catching on the cabinet he knew contained chips and other assorted late night munchies. After quickly deciding on a bag he grabbed it and immediately shoved some into his mouth.

"Why are you up so late?"

A sleepy voice suddenly caught his attention. John turned to find a certain brunette swaddled in a blanket and standing at the entrance to the kitchen. He giggled a little, shaking his head.

"Just editing, setting up games. Shit like that."

Jaren rolled his eyes.

"You realize there's this cool thing called morning, right?"
