Maidstone, A small town alongside a river, filled with shops and more houses than I care to count. Dawn creeping in alongside the flowing water, There is an icy chill in the air as hard working office clerks and shop assistant climb into their cars, blurry eyed and ready to get the day started. Among these hard working labourers is a young adolescent. At around 5'6, Kayleigh is average height for a 20 year old girl, She has a full head of naturally straight, Light brown hair down to her mid back ending in sort of a rough v-shape, Hazel eyes and a slightly pale complexion. Pulling herself out of bed and shivering as the cold air tackles her before she can grab her dressing gown. Blurry eyed she rubs her hands gently against her eyes and runs a hand through her current bed head. Blinking a few times she heads to the bathroom, showers and pulls on the uniform she chucked out on the unit the night before. Kayleigh looks up at the clock and grabs her car keys and bag, running late again. Not enough time to drive down even with town being so close to her house. A 5 minute drive at most but with all of the school traffic she cant risk taking the car. Halfway down the road she groans as it starts to spit “Should have brought a coat..” By the time she arrives in town her clothing is damp and sticky. Uncomfortable to start the day.
First stop has to be the bakery. Without caffeine in the form of coke and sugar in the form of a pastry to wake her up, there is no hope for anyone who may encounter her. The women behind the counter, moody as usual looks up at her and mumbles “£3.30..” Not even a please, kayleigh sighs handing over the money and taking the goods. “Thanks” she replies equally as snappy. Another day. Climbing the escalators she takes a glance at the people around her, no-one familiar, no-one happy but today felt different. Strange even. Giving a shrug she entered her work place and sat down finishing off her breakfast and prepping for a days work. Luckily her best friends, Sadie and Nita were in. They always made the day a little brighter.
Halfway through the day, Kayleigh slammed the till shut to prevent it opening again, she used her hips as she balanced trays in her arms and managed to hand back a receipt. She put the trays in the correct pigeon holes and went back to the front to watch people passing and getting on with their every day lives. It was christmas so santa had to do his yearly rounds, he stood looking bored, as usual outside of his “grotto” possible asleep from the angle he was leant at. Sadie had joined her by now and was stood silently thinking. Nothing in depth, too tired for that. She noticed a guy looking at kayleigh. Nudging her friend she smirked “Someone looks like they have got their eye on you” she laughed gently trying not to attract attention and make it obvious they were looking back “Who is he?” She asked looking over towards the guy. Kayleigh shrugged “He came in a few days ago..” “and..?” “Well he joked about taking me for a drive” she laughs and types up some notes quickly. After a while he wandered off. Sadie turnt back to her and laughed “Maybe.. he will turn up after work?” she grinned as Kayleigh giggled. “No dont be silly!” "Maybe he will whisk you away in his private jet.. he looks the type" Sadie laughs as they prepare to go home. "Maybe" she smirks in reply and rolls her eyes
