Chapter 4 : Competition

"Woah, woah, calm down, Daphne," the young boy raised both of his hands, surrendering. "Damn! My arm," pagdaing niya nang madaplisan ito ng patalim.

"You're so slow umilag! What a loser!"

The boy looked at her in disbelief. "You're not serious about this fight, are you?"

"Of course, I am." She smirked.

The little girl was now holding a gun, pointing it at the young boy. He raised his brow in amusement.

"Sige, sabi mo, eh." He shrugged and crossed his arms, waiting calmly for the young girl's attack.

She smirked again before she swiftly pulled the trigger. The speed of the bullet, towards the young boy's direction, doubled by the use of her ability.

Itinaas ng batang lalaki ang kanyang kamay dahilan para matigil ang bala, ilang pulgada nalang ang layo sa kanya.

"Aww, I told you, that ability of yours won't work on mine. Try the other one," he teased.

She laughed out loud. "As you wish."

"Woah, woah, nagjojoke lang ako!" Aligagang aniya. "What the fuck!? Stop," sigaw niya nang unti-unting nagdilim ang paligid dahil sa ability ng batang babae.

He sighed when she finally stopped. "Oh, fuck! Thank God I'm alive," he exaggeratingly said as soon as everything came back to normal.

He was about to tease the young girl for not continuing but his brows furrowed when he saw her crying.

"Hey, what's the matter? Are you okay?"  Halata ang pag-aalala sa boses.

"I dreamt about this. I should've followed my instinct," she muttered.

Agad na lumapit ang batang lalaki sa kanya, nagaalala. "What are you talking about? Why are you crying?"

"Kade, I'm sorry.."

"What? Why are you saying sorry?" he paused, getting more confused. "If it's about my arm, it's okay. Hindi naman masakit, eh."

"They're coming in a few minutes," lumingon-lingon siya sa paligid, walang tigil ang pagtulo ng mga luha. "Kade, natatakot ako. Anong gagawin ko? I should stop this, right? I should do something. And you.. You should leave bago ka pa nila maabutan. You–"

"I can't understand you, Daph. What-" hindi na natapos ng batang lalaki ang sasabihin. Nawalan siya ng malay matapos hawakan sa balikat ng lalaking naka cloak na bigla nalang sumulpot.

"Nooo, Kade!!!" Daphne screamed and tried to go near him but she couldn't. Someone froze her. She couldn't move.

"Who the fuck are you? What do you need? What did you do to him?!" She added, getting furious.

"AVY!!!"

Napabalikwas ako ng bangon matapos marinig ang sigaw ng pamilyar na boses, tinatawag ako. Napatingin ako kung sino iyon at nakita ang nagaalalang mukha ni Eli.

Napahawak ako sa pisnge ko nang maramdamang basa ito. I.. cried. That dream felt so real.

"S-sinong Kade, Avy?"
