Annie Leonhart was beyond pissed. She was furious. Normally, she wouldn’t care if it was any other food but it was her donuts. Her precious donuts that she bought on her way to the dorms, exhausted from a busy day in the uni. Her precious donuts that she decided to just eat the next morning because her eyes refused to open anymore the moment she reached her bed. Her precious donuts that she was supposed to eat right now, but were missing and were not in the goddamn fridge.

Annie checked the trashbin, only to see the donut box there. She clenched her fists. There’s only one person to be condemned. She was sure... no, Annie was certain. That glutton, namely Sasha, was the culprit who ate all of her donuts while she was deep in slumber. Annie grabbed her white hoodie and put it on. After locking the door, she left. A body is about to be discovered.

She still had at least one and a half hour before her first class starts, but she was already stomping her way to the cafeteria in search for that brat who devoured her donuts. She knew Sasha’s schedule, and that it is currently her vacant period right now. She was already in front of the cafeteria when she noticed Reiner and Bertholt exit the building.

“Annie! W—” Reiner was about to say something but Annie just walked past them, scowling, not sparing them at least a single glance.

The blonde girl momentarily stopped to look around. She spotted Sasha on a table not far from the counter, happily munching some chips as she tells some godforsaken story to a girl sitting across her. The girl’s hair was short, wearing a blue sweater and plain black jeans, her red scarf was wrapped loosely around her neck. She was attentively listening to whatever Sasha was saying.

Annie noisily made her way to them, stomping her feet on the floor with every step until Sasha took notice of her. The brunette’s eyes widen in fear as she stood up and went to her friend’s side. She crouched to hide behind the short-haired girl, muttering something like, “please protect me, I don’t want to die yet.”

Well, it was too late.

“What's happening?” Annie heard the girl ask Sasha.

“Sasha Braus.” Annie said in a low tone.

“Annie, I can explain and I promise I will—”

“Who said you can touch my donuts?”

“I had to! I ran out of bread and I can’t go to school without eating anything and your donuts were in the fridge so I ate them quickly before leaving. I am really go—” Sasha stopped speaking when she saw how fuming mad Annie was. An imaginary dark aura was being emitted by her. Sasha grabbed her friend’s arm, “Mikasa, promise me you’ll protect me if Annie goes berserk or something.”

“What happened?” The girl named Mikasa asked for the second time.

“I ate her donuts without permission.”

Mikasa raised her brows then looked at Annie for a while. Annie was surprised when she saw the girl smile. Mikasa looked back again at Sasha, “That’s rude, Sasha. I’d be mad too if someone eats my favorite food without my approval.”

“Yes, I know! I'm sorry. Now, stop scolding me.” Sasha barked back.

“Don't worry, I’ll save your ass this once.” Mikasa puts a hand above Sasha's head.

“Thank you, Mikasa! You’re a heaven-sent. I will never forget this day.”

“How?" Annie spoke.

The two turned their heads to her.

“How are you going to save her? Want to fight?” The blonde glared at her.

Mikasa stood from her seat, seemingly relaxed despite the daggers from Annie's eyes that were being thrown to her, “No. Actually, I was going to buy you some donuts. It would be better if you come with me.”

Annie was stunned, so was Sasha. Mikasa heard a little, “huh?” from the brunette behind her.

Sasha whined, “Mikasa, that’s unfair! You’ve never bought me donuts before.”

Annie glared at Sasha, shutting her up, before looking back at Mikasa, “Thanks, but it’s that glutton who should really be treating me.”

“Sasha got classes 15 minutes from now, while I still have two vacant periods.”

“But...” Annie paused for a moment, as she looked at Mikasa’s hopeful eyes, “I don’t really know you.”

Mikasa looked shock and hurt.

“We have Bio and Japanese class together. Seriously, Leonhart?” She raised her brows, but rather looked amused.

Annie blushed. She was embarassed by the fact that they had been classmates for five months yet she never noticed Mikasa ever since and now she's being asked out by the girl.

Today was probably the first time Annie had a good look on Mikasa's face. She’s tall, her eyes were beautiful, and the rest of her features were just amazing. They were like, bam! Ultimate combination that makes up a very gorgeous and attractive woman like the one in front of her who's surprisingly asking her out. Annie blushed at the thought but still managed to appear stoic.

Sasha rose up from the ground, “Yeah! That would be nice! Annie, you should definitely come. Mikasa is loaded, she’ll buy you lots.” the brunette gave her a knowing smile, encouraging her to go with the girl.

Annie sighed then looked at Mikasa, “but you don’t have to do this. It’s Sasha who should really be paying me back. I can just wait until she finishes her sched.”

“I insist. And we can get to know each other. I was actually hurt when I found out that you don’t know me at all.” Mikasa said while Sasha was sneaking her way out of the cafeteria. Annie noticed it, but pretended and decided to let her go.

“Sorry.” Annie mumbled. She's not good with remembering people. She has failed History multiple times and had to repeat semesters just to pass it because of her poor memory skills during highschool.

“Make it up for me by accepting my offer. It’s a win-win for the both of us.”

“Okay.”

“You sure don’t speak a lot.” Mikasa’s giggle was annoyingly cute. Annie wanted to hug her.

“Let's start over. I’m Mikasa Ackerman.” Mikasa offered a handshake.

“Annie. Annie Leonhart.” She lifted her hand and shaked Mikasa's.

“So, what’s your favorite donut?”
