It was like drowning. A force pulling you under as you slowly fall to your death. You can't stop it or fight it, you just have to let it happen. If you finally decide to let go, it all comes rushing in like water and that's when it's over. When you take your last breath.

Dreams can be misleading. They make you think everything is fine, that it's not an illusion but reality. You carry on like it's normal but then the truth crashes in on you when you least expect it. It's all wrong. It's fake. You're not supposed to be there. Then you fall.

Arielle loved the feeling of falling. It lets all you're worries float away as you concentrate on not waking up. The further you go down, the calmer it gets, until you finally hit the bottom. As it happens, you'd wake with a jolt. The soothing feeling of comfort, knowing you're awake. But what happens if you don't. If when you finish falling you don't wake. That's a question we'll never know the answer too because it's a reaction, right?

Today, however, her dream was different. She wasn't falling, but walking, following a light in the distance. Not knowing where it was leading her, but trusting it to give her answers. Eventually, it slowed to a stop in front of an old, wooden sign, only getting a glimpse of it before the light went out. As she stood there in the dark, a flash of red appeared before her, going as fast as it came.

The dream faded away when Arielle sat up in her bed that night. She wasn't able to move, only stare ahead until it all came back to her. Turning her head to face the glowing moon, she was able to mutter out two words,

'Scott McCall'.
